**{{NICOLE'S POV}}**

*BEEP BEEP*

Ugh, it should be a crime to wake up before 9am. Seriously, who was the genius that thought school at 7am was a great idea? I'll tell you one thing, I'd really like to punch that guy in the face.

Well at least school gives me...um...it gives me...

Yeah, school really doesn't give me anything at this point. I understand kindergarten through like 7th grade, but everything else is just pointless. Like seriously, I already know how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, when am I gonna need to know how to find the angle measurements of a triangle.

I'm such a hypocrite. I'm literally the biggest goody-two-shoes you will ever meet. Ever. I pretend to act cool like school isn't that important to me, but to be honest, school is EVERYTHING to me. I'm pretty sure I've wanted to go to Yale since I could walk. Scratch that, I'm pretty sure I came out of the womb wearing a Yale sweatshirt. My loud ear-piercing baby screams were just be shouting, "GO BULLDOGS!" over and over again.

Every morning, I wake up super grouchy until I look around my room. I see my favorite things scattered around the room and it brings a genuine smile to my face. I see my bulletin board with my Yale pennant and all the goofy Polaroids with my best friend Stacy. Stacy is my best friend in this entire world, and really my only friend.

I wake up and admire my two enormous bookshelves with my favorite reads. I turn on my lamp and my fairy lights and look at how magical my room looks. I admire my pink chevron wallpaper and my simplistic white sheets that I really want to climb back into.

I open my curtains to see the sun peeking up over the horizon and smile. I love watching the sunrise, even if that means if I have to get up super early to see it.

Wait a second. I never get to see the sunrise...

CRAP I'M LATE!

I run to my closet grabbing whatever clothes are closest and throw them on. I frantically stumble to the bathroom to brush my teeth. This gonna have to be a no-makeup day. And no time for contacts either...Just as I grab my glasses case I notice a huge zit that must have formed over night. Wonderful. Today is gonna be a great day!

I also notice in the mirror that the outfit I chose in the dark was sweatpants with a big stain on my thigh and an old t-shirt with the Sesame Street gang on it above writing that says #squadgoals. Of course in the dark I didn't realize that I would never wear these things out of the house, but there's no time to change now.

I run downstairs to see my mom standing by the door with a very stern expression on her face. My older sister McKenzie is sitting at the kitchen table eating an assorted variety of fruit laid out in front of her. She must have a new boyfriend. She only goes on diets when she has a boyfriend.

"Sorry Mom no time to talk Stacy's waiting for me! Bye!"

As I dash out the door I grab a breakfast bar for the road and climb into Stacy's car.

Stacy looks at me with concerned eyes.

"What took you so long?"

"I daydreamed too much and ended up being late."

"Yeah okay that sounds like you." Stacy puts the car into reverse as we back out of the driveway.

"Looks like McKenzie got a new boyfriend somehow, she's dieting again," I say as I play with the radio to find the right song.

"Word on the street is she's dating Jake...from State Farm."

Stacy bursts out laughing as I glare at her for making a terrible joke.

"Listen, ya done yet, because I'd prefer not to have to call my mom and explain how I got in a car accident on my way to school."

"Geesh, I thought my sense of humor is what made me charming," Stacy says as she smiles at me with her perfectly white teeth.

"Whatevs, I give up, you have no sense of humor," Stacy adds annoyed. "Word on the street is that she's dating Jake Moore."

My heart skips a beat. Jake Moore, the hot junior is dating my sister? Wow. I mean, it's not like I'm infatuated with Jake, but he is pretty nice to look at.

"Wait, how did you figure this out? You're a sophomore, they're juniors." I ask Stacy confused.

"You know Lewis?"

"You mean your *~special~* friend?" I nudge her lightly in a playful manner.

"SHUT UP! HE IS JUST A FRIEND, NICOLE!"

I dissolve into a fit of giggles and she tries to punch me while driving. It does not work.

"Nicole, Lewis is just a friend. And stop laughing it's not funny! Anyways, the only reason I know is because Lewis and Jake are on the baseball team together. Now, GET OUT OF MY CAR! Go to class and ace that test you inevitably have to take because you have a test everyday!"

"OKAY!!!" I scream as I grab my backpack and jog to the building. Even if I was late this morning, that doesn't give me an excuse to be late for class.
