Josh laid on couch, watching the younger boy pace back and forth throughout the room. Tyler's mind was running and it wasn't going to stop.
His middle school crush was back, Jenna Black.
Jenna Black had moved schools due to her parents thinking she was too distracted, but she returned to the area. Now a senior in high school, Tyler was determined to make her his. However, Josh was never fond of Jenna, or any girl, he had his eyes on someone. For years Josh felt like this, to get no feelings in return. Living with the constant pain of rejection, without ever having to ask him out.
"Tyler, how about you calm down? Come sit," Josh suggested.
Tyler only chuckles in response, grabbing the stilled gum package on the table next to him. "I can't! She's finally come back! We're already talking again, I might as well take this as an advantage."
"An advantage for?" Josh sung out the vowels.
"There's guys in that school eyeing her out! She already knows me, we were already friends, I have to act fast before someone else does!"
Josh felt Tyler's gum wrapper hit his face, then bouncing off him onto the floor. "If worse goes for worse, I'll date you."
"Haha," Tyler's voice held irony, "Now help me!"
