"Lizzy, hurry up the car looks so cool."
My 16 year old sister barged into the library of the house soaring in the air and landing on me with an ompf.
"Get off of me you Gorilla." I tried to push her off my fragile frame with my skinny arms but it was failed attempt, so I hit her hand a couple of times, before she got of me rubbing at her shoulder with a pout.
At the age of 16 my little sister weighed twice the size of me, she was really pretty and really smart, as in like she was street smart not book smart, she was dumber than a snail
Half the boys at her school will drop to the ground for her to walk on them because apparently she's Jessica Walker.
She dresses like a model and wants to be an actress.
And I am just her really smart 18 year old sister who dresses like Johnny Test and has more vocabularies than the oxford dictionary.
Did I mention that I am the smartest girl in the world and I got into the best school in the world? Well now you know.
We are fatherless. My mother used the sperm donor process because she didn't want to deal with another gold digger as a husband. She isn't home for half a year and when she's finally around she spends all her time in her office, the prohibited area.
The mother figure in this family is actually our cook/ nanny/ mother and family therapist Mama Nancy. She is the best and she's 63 and she's been able to do more for us than my own mother.
Even though we were stinking rich I still preferred the scholarship to my mother paying in order for me to attend the prestigious college
"Elizabeth," fingers snapped in front of my face bringing me back. I looked up from where I sat at my sister who as always was muttering away.
"I'm gonna miss you so much."
"I can't believe you're actually going so soon ."
"And to a school haunted by ghosts."
" I hope you get a really cute boyfriend."
"Oh my gosh I'm gonna miss you so much."
She hustled me into a hug, but I wasn't really paying attention. I was still stuck up on the third statement.
"I can't believe you actually believe the
story about a ghost it's so stupid."
"It's true, I heard it from witnesses."
"Just don't believe stuff like that, you just get hooked up on the wrong stuff." I murmured into her hair and I squeezed her extra tight cause I was really going to miss her.
"Ok"
"Elizabeth" the cheerful voice but alarmed voice of Nancy caused me to hurry with the packing of all the story books that I planned on reading for the week. I put the final book into my suitcase grabbed it and rushed down the stairs, my sister right behind me.
I met Nancy at the foot of the staircase with a mixing bowl and a big wooden spoon mixing the pancake mixture for their breakfast. I had coffee this morning so I didn't really feel like taking in anything.
They escorted me to the front door
The car was already filled with my bags and I added my book bag, before hurrying to the front to take my seat. Calvin detested being late to any place even to Starbucks.
He greeted me good morning and closed the door after I took my seat.
I rolled done my window and shouted bye to my family.
The journey started and the window was rolled back up.
My eyes closed and I rested my head against the headrest , planning to sleep through the entire 5 hour car ride.
