Za'nequa I looked in the mirror and puffed my hair. "I'm so ugly." I thought and rolled my eyes at my reflection.
What was I thinking I wondered walking downstairs. I looked at my mom who was passes out on the couch I signed and walked out the door.
Before my step sister and brother came out their rooms. I would say my life is another Cinderella story only thing is everybody's mean to me except my step brother.
I'm the darkest person in our house. I inherited my dad's color. Unfortunately I only FaceTime him because my mom doesn't let me see him.
I walked to the bus stop and got a few mugs stank faces and stares. I got them everyday it hurts more every day.
"I hate this dang on color." I mumbled and stopped at the bus stop and my best friend soon came running up to me.
She was soooo pretty and her swag was off the charts. She was smiling so hard she was always happy she had it all... Nice family,friends,relationships, She had all the boys chasing her.
"Hey Nequa." She said smiling and I gave her a head nod and her smile faded. I always made her frown I make everyone frown.
"What Eb?" I asked with a smirked and she rolled her eyes.
"You always doing that shit Nequa." She said adjusting her bag.
"What I didn't do anything." I said looking at her.
"I know what your thinking girl.. you are beautiful your hair is awesome like stop thinking about other folks opinions your an amazing creation and God knew that if you wasn't he would've put you here." She said and pushed me when I rolled my eyes.
"I hear you." I said looking at her.
"You hear me but are you hearing me?" She asked and I nodded and she smiled a sympathetic smile and I signed.

She was beautiful she was sexy like dang God really took his time on my best friend.
The bus pulled up in front of us and we got on people was talking it was loud then I stepped on and they got quiet and looked at me... I mean every one.
"Come on best friend." Eb said grabbing my hand and pulled me.
"Look at her hair." Some one mumbled and I signed.
"Her black ass wearing all that white."
"I hope that bitch period start ole dumb black ass."
I was devastated I was mad and sad. I felt my eyes stinging and I knew I was about to cry. After we sat down I closed my eyes and thought about being with my dad so the tears wouldn't fall.
"Its okay best friend they just mad." Eb said hugging me and I pushed away from her.
We sat on the bus in silence and said nothing or attempted to say anything.
We got off the bus and some one tried to trip me but I caught myself.
Why won't they leave me alone? I pushed past the crowd and some one hit me and I ran away.
I wasn't a fighter I didn't know how I wasn't use to fighting I was scared.
I walked in the bathroom and signed.
"What you doing in here black heifer?" One girl said and her 2 friends looked at me.
"I just needed to catch my breathe." I said breathing hard like I was going to fall out I had asthma.
"Bitch get out you ain't welcomed round here." The other friend said and they all nodded.
"It's a* breathes* public *breathes* bathroom." I said out of breathe.
I didn't have my pump because my step sister used all the stuff just spraying it in the air.
"You heard what the fuck we said." The third girl said and they started getting closer.
"I'm not hurting nobody." I said and they stop 2 inches away from me.
"But we about to hurt somebody." The first girl said and hit me right in the nose my head hit the door.
Next thing I know I was getting kicked,punched and my hair was being pulled. I couldn't breathe where was Eb she just didn't come looking for me.
"Stop! Stop! I can't breathe!" I managed to yell out and they kept on even harder.
I started having an asthma attack and I was gasping for air. They soon stopped.
"*laughs * Bitch having an asthma attack ole dumb ass." One of them joked.
"Leave that bitch." Another one said.
"Black ass need to die." One said and some one kicked me and they walked out.
They lights soon faded and I felt like I chocked to death.
