Chapter 22

"And you thought you could save them by risking your life"?

"Behram I know I did wrong ,I was"...

"You think you did wrong? You think risking your life was just wrong? You didn't bother to tell me ,you know I could've solved the problem in an hour Mahi. But still you didn't bother to say anything. You think I am just sitting here ready to lose you every day? You didn't thought about me for once, do you know what I would've done without you? I told you I love them too I would've surely done something to get them back and trust me my idea of getting them would have been much safer than yours. You insanely risked your own life, who do you think you are to put me through this for the second time specially when I told you not to do it".

"I never wanted to hurt you or make you worry over me". She whispered wiping the tears that were now running on her face.

"Worry? You are my wife God dammit off course I'll worry about you"

"I was just trying to save them"

"Save them by killing yourself, bravo"! He clapped dramatically and she shook her head at him.

"Its not like that.." She raised her voice and he screamed more loudly than her.

"It is, it is like that. You were stupid enough to walk into hell and you have no idea what I went through after I found out that you sat in his car ".

He threw the side lamp on the wall and it crashed with the wall with a loud voice ,Mahi flinched at his voice and stood up ,she tried to touch his arm but he backed away a little.

"Don't" ! He said ,his voice was dangerously low now.

"Behram" She whispered and saw something flash in his eyes.

"I am leaving for England, my flight is tonight. I'll drop you to Agha Jan's house. I am going for two weeks. Its better you stay there after all you care about them more than you care about me".

"I'll stay here" She said in reply and glared daggers at her.

"You are going and that's final" ! With that he kicked the glass table harshly and walked out of the room. She stood there sobbing mutely.S he knew there is no arguing with him now. The state he was in ,he will never listen to her. He was right too, if she cared about them, he did too. He would've solved it easily. She risked her life hurting him in the process. She would've reacted the same way as him if she was in his place.

He had every right to be angry. The next couple of hours went silently. She packed her things and he dropped her at her house. She opened the car door and looked at him before going out. He was looking outside the window and didn't bother to return her gaze once. Disappointed she got out of the car and saw it running on the road leaving a storm of dust behind.

"I am sorry Mahi ,its because of us that Behram bhai is not talking to you" Urwa said wiping her tears while Mahi shook her head at her.

"Don't be silly ,its not about that .We fought about an entirely different thing. And I know him he'll come back as soon as his anger is gone".

"I can explain Mahi,I can talk to him" Sheheryar offered but Mahi shook her head again.

"No there is really no need for that ,I know he'll come around" She felt like she is trying to explain it to herself that he'll come back. Her insides turned sharply at the thought of him leaving her .She gulped shaking her head at all of them.
