Walking, slowly. Making sure I don't make any sound. Wearing a black long sleeve that's being covered by my favourite dark blue flannel, a pair of black skinny jeans, and my favourite black combat boots. My long silver dyed hair being captured by my black beanie. Walking down the alleyway, escaping the flashing red and blue lights behind me. Police yelling in their megaphones, ordering people to vacate the abandoned building. My friends and I escape through the back, making sure no one saw us. We run in different directions. Hoping that the cops wouldn't catch us. I have no clue where they are right now, and seriously I don't care. I need to save myself.

I peek around the corner of the brick building I am hiding behind. Making sure the coast is clear. I make a run for it towards a 2016 Mustang GT. I try to look through the tinted passenger's window. Can't see jack. I go around the front of the car. I take a look in the drivers window. I see something shining. I slowly grab the handle. Lifting it up ever-so carefully.

It's unlock!

I begin to open the door. Then suddenly the door quickly smashes into my face.

"I got one!" Yells a man.

I look up at his silhouette. Holding my bloody nose with my right hand. I look around. Seeing if there are anyone already on their way. It's hard to tell which way the guy that hit me in the face with his car door is looking. But I decide, for my safety and for my friends. That I'll try to run.

I begin to get up off of the cold cement ground. Once having my balance on my feet. I turn around. Ready to run.

But, because of my luck. There is more pain on my spine. I turn to face the silhouette. He stands there, his face full of shock. As if he surprised himself with what he did. We stare at each other in surprise. He holds the baseball bat in his shaking hands. I glance from the bat to the guy.

"Venus, I'm sorry I didn't want to hit you." He spoke in a low tone.

I raise an eyebrow, "who are you?"

He shook his head, "nobody, I'm sorry for hitting you. Leave, run. I won't tell."

I continue to stare at him skeptical of his words. He nods his head to his left.

"Go, I promise they won't find you."

"But you just hit me in the spine with a damn baseball bat!" I snap.

His eyes widen, "hey, I will distract them if you quiet down a bit. Okay?"

I sigh. Looking him in the eyes, "You positive?"

He nods his head in agreement. I look behind him. Nobody. I close my eyes. Taking a deep breath in. As I open them I nod.

"There's a door right behind you, go through it. Take a right on the first opening. Then go straight. You'll be on Walnut street. Okay? I won't tell them anything except that you made a run for it."

I look at him. Actually surprise that a S.W.A.T. officer is actually helping me in this situation.

"He's over here!" Hollers a deep voice.

He glances over at me. "Run."

I don't hesitate. I book it. Following the directions that he gave me. He wasn't wrong, I do end up on Walnut street. I look up and down the street, to see that there's no cops around. Dashing across the street that's barely lit up with a single dim streetlight that flickers a few times. I run right to the other side of the street. My combat boots tapping the whole way.

"FREEZE!" Yells a loud voice.

I turn around. A light blinding me from seeing anything.
