"Jay! Jay! Wake up! Please!"

Distant screaming was heard, everything sounded as if they were speaking in water, slowly, but surely the sounds had become louder, my freezing cold body was being violently shaken, a loud screaming was blaring above me.

I lazily opens my eyes and took a sharp inhale, Melody was shaking and screaming, tears gushing from her eyes, I groggily utter out for her to stop, and get slammed into a tight hug, she gripped my body and sobbed wildly,

"I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!"

Shit! How long was I out?!

I gripped into my big sister and whispered calming things to her, she soon came down to a sniffle and whimper,

"I really did think you were dead, you weren't moving... You weren't breathing... You were pale..." She gasped softly between sentences and gripped my shoulders.

"Please don't leave me EVER again Jay, I can't live without you, I don't wanna live in a world without you. Your all I have now... Grammy and Pop are dead, Mom and Dad are dead... I can't have you dead too."

Her chin was wrinkled with another upcoming sob. I felt tears streaking down my face as I wrapped my arms around my sisters back, sobbing.

"I'm sorry! I saw someone outside and I wanted to investigate! I'm so sorry Melody!!!" I cried, I wasn't being a kiss-ass, but the fact she brought up Mom and Dad...

No, I.. I don't wanna..

It was just awful, Dad took Mom to Mt.Everest for their anniversary, they were huge in climbing, wind picked up and mom accidentally unclasped from her hook, she fell deep into the crevice, never to be seen again.

Dad screamed in anger and jumped off the crevice, falling deep for his love.

Melody sniffled and stood up, grasping my hand and pulling me along side her, walking with me back to the house, she was either mad, depressed, or hungry.

Orange chicken stir fry was resting on plates, and a a bowl of white rice lay centerpiece on the table,

Melody made dinner.

...

3rd person POV

the two girls ate in silence, avoiding each others gaze, as Jay desperately tried to remember why she even chased the apparition, but experienced horrible pains in her skull and felt static blaring in her ears, dinner was finished early for her.

Later that night, she laid uneasily in bed, feeling nauseous and cold, even under the several blankets Melody had tucked her in with.

A few times she had thrown up during the night, a slight black goo was noticed in her puke.

Something was definitely wrong.

Taking a cool shower to ease her nerves, Jay had noticed the "Operator" sign burned into her palm, a black marking that didn't seem to come out, no matter how many times Jay washed it.

Questioning the mark, she had ended the shower early, dressed, and searched up anomalies that fit her description.

Hours later, only one thing was gained in knowledge after hours of searching,

She only knew it's real name, despite it being in German.
