The Empire Falls

1995

Stars lined perfectly making the sky glimmer brightly over the village streets; the village people walked the streets like it was a late night festival.

Roseanna was preparing dinner for her son Eden and her Baby Daughter fhoebe. Eden walked up to his mother pulling the brim of her Dress; Anna looked down to her son and gave him a modest smile as she picked him up. “What would you like my dearest Eden?” Eden pointed to the Window with Massive Striding from the gates. 

Anna peeked through the window and stared as he saw a strange man she remembered once not to long ago. 

She hurriedly put Eden down and looked at him “Eden Hide!” Anna grabbed Aiden and picked up fhoebe. She led them to the attic “stay here until everything is Quiet you hear me?!” fhoebe started to bawl loudly, Roseanna Hushed the baby and gave her to Eden and buckled down “Don’t leave your sister!” Roseanna shut her eyes tight and gave him and his sister one last Kiss on the forehead and walked down from the attic, 

Roseanna slowly walked down the stairs but twisted her ankle and fell down; banging her head on the wooden beige floor. She began to slowly get up but then something strong took her back down. “Rose, well isn’t funny walking into you here...” said a sharp voice Roseanna recognized and wished would go away; Roseanna breathed heavily terrified of who she thought had died long ago. 

“Vladimir... I thought you were-“

Vladimir interrupted,” dead? Yes... That what I thought too darling”

He grinned; Rosanna looked at him. Vladimir knelt down stroking her hair softly grinning; “I’m looking for my son, where is he?” Roseanna doesn’t say anything 

But looks at the ground shocked. “Oh yes, I was never supposed to know about my own son existing; isn’t that right..?”  Said Vladimir furious at Roseanna; 

he thought to himself how could she be so selfish, he loved her so much it hurt. “Don’t you dare act like you ever cared about me and my son? You left ME!” Screamed Rosanna in rage, “Your son is somewhere safe and sound” As Vladimir turns around silently he takes out a small wooden knife “Don’t let me do this sweetie...” Says Vladimir already regretting what he was about to do to the love of his life for his own selfish reason... Roseanna grins and looks at him disgusted “what are you going to do, kill me?”  She gets up slowly, body still aching from Falling down the hardcore stairs. 

“Sorry sweetie pie but I’m not dying without a fight” Roseanna smiles and two sharp blades appear in her hands. Vladimir turns around and a grin appears on his face; “I Guess this is a fight for our son” Vladimir says insisting. “Yes, I Guess so darling. This is where your pathetic little self dies” she slowly walks up a little; “If I agreed with you sweetie, we’d both be wrong.” Vladimir lunges at her with his knives and stabs her in her stomach, Roseanna lays on the floor bleeding but manages to kick him off of her at full power and cuts Vladimir on his eyes lids opening a layer of his skin, Roseanna smiles satisfied. He screams and looks at Roseanna with hate feuding in his body. Vladimir raises one hand at Roseanna while holding his bleeding eyelids and flings Roseanna on her kitchen counter causing even more pain than before; Vladimir walks up to Roseanna and looks at her “Roseanna woods, my sweet Roseanna woods.” 

He said shaking his head in shame. “Kill me already, but just remember this will haunt you for the rest of your life; and if you take my son away from me. Remember, he will never forgive you.” Vladimir laughs and sticks his knife through her heart. 

The sound Made Eden wondered why his mother wasn’t coming back for him, He heard a loud scream and it was his mother. Eden quivered a little and held his sister tightly. Vladimir knelt down and looked at the love of his life Roseanna motionless on the floor and wiped the blood of him; “Mike, Farris.” He screamed “Come here now!” 

Eden ran to a little corner that had a huge hole in the corner and he hid in it as he heard A Fuming Sharp voice coming closer to the attic. “Find My son! And bring him to me at once” A Group of monster packed men acknowledged what he said and open the attic doors. “Yes Vladimir”.  Before Vladimir left he Gazed at the men and whispered “burry her somewhere far.” Aiden started to feel a blazing emotion inside, Aiden gently set his sister farthest out of the hole and violently walked up to Vladimir and tried to strike him but Vladimir pushed him away by his forehead and smiled. 

“You must be my son, Eden.”, “where’s my mommy!” Aiden said angrily tearing up, Vladimir bent down “she’s gone, you’ll see her again.” An excessive Sound came from outside of the attic, as the window ruptured wide open, as man with a red beard came flying riding a phoenix. “Vladimir!” Vladimir shivered a bit “Lord- Lord Xeric, it’s too late. Your Devine Roseanna is gone. The one you left to ‘protect’ ” Xavier’s Rage was beyond his limit.

 “Don’t you dare tell me you laid a finger on her?” The baby started crying rigidly and Vladimir looked at the baby disappearing with it. “Fhoebe!” Eden looked frightened; Xeric looked at thin air in hatred then look at Eden “You Must Be Eden” Xeric said with no emotions on his face and approached Eden with his Phoenix. “Come along boy, I promise I will protect you and you with my life.” Xeric held one hand towards Eden and smiled; Eden grabbed his arm with both hands and pulled himself up... 

“We’ll find you’re baby sister I promise you, I will not let that man get away with what he did to my daughter” Eden nodded and looked at his burning home one last time.

16 Years later...

(Eden’s P.O.V)

I walked within the radiant bright morning, I squinted my eyes from the Blazing sun. That man..  A picture of his face was embedded in my thoughts. He my emotions fiery; I wanted my vengeance for him killing my mother and capturing my baby sister. I was puzzled at what he ached with me... I walked towards the Great soaring school’s gateway; I cached a glimpse of A Beautiful professor talking to, furthermore giving a small bright silver Ring to every latest and returning novice.

 I could not examine my thinking accurately with all the piercing pandemonium; I stood there observing the building and then Continued to march to the Army of novices. “Welcome back Marilyn” Spoke the professor conveying the ring to the bleached-headed young lady with fine grey eyes; She put the ring on her finger and before Marilyn could say anything Golden characters occurred on her ring saying rouge. Marilyn was speechless, “a... Rouge? But it can’t be.” 

She looked as if she was going to pass out at any moment. ”Celeste, am I really rouge? I’m not hallucinating... Am I?” Marilyn said looking at her ring. 

Celeste chuckled a little “no you’re not, you’ve earned it Darling.”  

She turned to walk away. I smirked and proceeded up; “Hello I’m Celeste and you are..?” I stared at her and acknowledged her answer. “Eden woods.” She looked at me as if “Ah yes, the headmaster’s grandson.” She grinned and grabbed a ring from her golden box she handed the ring to me, I inserted it onto my middle finger and it began. Golden characters occurred on my ring and said Mage... “How could this be?” 

Celeste gradually looked up overwhelmed; “what do you mean...” I said astonished and slightly offended. “What I mean is, you have not started your classes yet and you’ve already made a name for yourself” said Celeste calmly and still a bit overwhelmed. I uplifted my eyebrows embedding my thumb and brushing my lower lips. “Well, welcome Eden” She smiled once more as the gates launched open “Eden... Your gift is extraordinary, and I’m sure you are too. ” I nodded my head not sure what she meant by it. I turned to walk away entering a massive skyscraping building; the greatest crowd called the empire falls.
