Disaster

I walk through the fields,

Through the fields I used to run through as a child.

Now all that remains is death,

The charred remains of the fields, and the homes nearby.

I remember,

The memory so vague,

Walking through the swaying, golden, lucious grass.

Now all that is left is sadness.

The memories of screaming families fleeing their homes,

The memories of my family trying to escape the scorching flames.

This disaster has ruined this place, these lives,

This disaster has scarred me,

The only survivor.
