Chapter One: We Meet

My first day of high school. I got dressed in a purple shirt and white skirt. I brushed out my long, fiery-red hair and headed out the door.

I got on the bus, alone. We arrived at school.

Violent yelling filled my ears. Words' hurtful things filled my ears a I heard "FIGHT FIGHT!" over and over. I wished I could use my powers, but that was against school rules. I go to a school for people with powers like mine, we just weren't allowed to use them.

Next a big smash. Oh my gosh. I thought in my head. There was a big fight going on. Smack. I grabbed my bookbag. I explained to the principle that this one boy, Jake, had punched and slapped another boy and I tried to break it up. "Oh my name is Katrinna. I'm an air elemental." The principle didn't respond. "I'm talking to you!" I spat. He continued to ignore me, so I marched off to class.

As soon as I got to class I saw five other girls. One was twirling snowflake between her fingers. Another was playing with the fish tank, and one was cutting her bangs with fire. The last one was growing ivy from the floor.

I came in to the classroom and then the 5 girls stopped, but only because they saw me. Soon the teacher came in and began class. "Alright class, welcome to math. Before we start the lesson, we have a new student." The teacher looked straight at me. "Introduce yourself, sweetheart."

I stepped to the front of the room, "Hi," I began, "my name is Katrina."

"Alright class, introduce yourselves to Katrina," said the teacher .

The girl who was playing with the fish earlier spoke up, "Hi, my name's Naomi."

"Hi, I'm Clair but my friends call me Flair. You can call me either," said the girl with fire. I tuned out all the other students because frankly, I didn't care.

We went to lunch. I sat with Naomi and Flair, and the ice and ivy girls. I walked to the table with my lunch tray, and I bumped trays with someone.

I looked up and saw the most beautiful thing my green eyes had ever laid eyes on. "Wowie," I muttered.

"Sorry," he said, "Are you okay?"

I nodded, unable to speak. "Wowie," I muttered again, slightly louder than the first time.

I walked back to the table and looked around at the girls. Naomi had an accusing look on her face. She wiggled her eyebrows. "So," she said, "I see you've meet Wyatt."

"That's his name?" I stuttered.

She leaned up against the ice girl, who's name I learned, was Alison. "Ooo someone's in loooove," they chimed.

My face turned pink. "Mmmm shut up!" I buried my face in my hands.

"Lay off, guys," the ivy girl, Haley, said, "She's just a little awestruck by his amazing hotness. We all were."

"I wasn't," Naomi piped up.

"Yea. Neither was I," Alison added.

Haley rolled her eyes and we all continued eating.

I had a strange dream that night. "Oh, just listen to yourself," a voice said, "You and I will kill the 4 girls with powers."

I gasped. Oh my God I thought.

I woke up and screamed. Flair, who was rooming with me, looked up from the bottom bunk. "Get the others," I said, "We gotta get outta here."

Me and my friends (after we got them) ran away. We stopped suddenly. "No," I breathed, "You have to get away from me. Run!"

"No!" Naomi spat, "We haven't known you long, but I'm not abandoning anyone. Anyone." I blinked.

"But I'm gonna kill you."

Alison and Naomi whispered to each other. "No," Alison said, "You aren't."

We found a house that belonged to an old lady. She welcomed us in, both us and her not mentioning anything big. Such as the fact that we had powers.

But after two days we found out that she was a demon sent from Hell. Flair turned into a fox of fire. Zeerya, the demon, froze her. Naomi flooded the woods as Haley built a boat for us to escape in. We sailed out of the flood when Zeeraya said "Run Run! I'll catch you!" Alison screamed as she...
