Sleep

It's like an ocean.

The waves wash over you. At first, they feel luxurious. Warm and welcoming. But then they pull you in. You get caught in the riptide. It's strong, and refuses to let you out. Sometimes, you will panic. Other times, you embrace the trap and let it pull you farther. Either way, the tides drown you. You can feel their warm, salty liquids fill you.

The water pulls you down deeper into it's depths. You panic, but then realize you can breathe, and you relax. The water begins to feel cooler, but it feels good. It relaxes you. On an occasion, you will get picked up by a current. It will take you on adventures and it can build your courage. It can cause your worst fears. It may toss you and contort you, but there are always the currents that are gentle and caring. The currents usually end by throwing you onto the beach you started on, with much force no matter what kind of current it was. Other times, the current just sets you into a reef and you must swim your way out.

Sleep is like an ocean, with it's tides always changing.
