Hey Everyone!

Just a heads up, incase you didn't know, I'm British, this means some of the language I use many be different to that which American users are used to, bear with me 😅

For this reason most of the one shots I write in this book will be set in England unless the prompt is based upon an episode or such. In order for you to understand some of things which may come up I'm going to write a list of things Included in the British Education System:

1. Years vs Grades
In the U.K. We use 'Years' rather than 'Grades'. For example we use Year 7 whereas America uses 6th Grade.

2. Primary and Secondary School
In the U.K. There is primary schools and secondary schools.
Primary school starts from Year 1 (Ages 5-6) and goes up to Year 6 (Ages 10-11).

Secondary School starts at Year 7 (Ages 11-12) and ends at Year 11 (Ages 15-16).

Secondary education is completed by exams called GCSE's (General Certificate of Secondary Education). Most students have an average of 10 subjects which they complete to a GCSE level. These exams are sat at the End of Year 11, and preparation for these exams begin at the End of Year 9 and at the start of Year 10.

3. A-Levels
Then there is further education. Or A-levels. These take place during Years 12 & Years 13 but are not compulsory education, unlike Primary and Secondary. Students often take 4 Subjects at A-Level which they will sit exams in. However one subject is usually dropped after the first year and only an 'AS' grade is achieved in this subject.

I hope these explanations have helped you and I look forward to reading all of your comments and requests.

Thanks so much for all the support.
-Em x
