In a medium sized bakery, stood a girl and her best friend. Her long, maroon hair was in a messy bun as she was placing donuts and cupcakes in the container that people would usually select their orders with. She sighed, looking at her hands. Messy. They had powdered sugar and donut glaze on them. She grunted, turning around and walking into the kitchen to wash them.
"Be careful! I just used the sink so the water is still hot--!" Her friend shouted from the front, but was cut off as he heard a loud blood curdling scream come from the kitchen.
She immediately ran out, waving her hands back and forth, "KYOUSE!! YOU COULDA' TOLD ME A FEW SECONDS EARLIER!" She whimpered, trying to grab ice from the fridge, but her hands were too hot to touch metal.
"I-I got it!" The man seemingly to be named Kyouse, had gotten an ice pack out of the fridge, and rested it on her hands. His silky smooth black hair was swaying a little as thy leave the shop door open.
"I'm sorry Roe.." He said sadly but reassuringly at the same time. It was hard to tell.
"It's fine! It's fine! My hands are healed, so I'm not dead." Rosaline sighed, she was okay with being called "Roe", it's a lot shorter than Rosaline any day.
"So are we still up for walking around the town?" She asked, looking up at him with a melancholy, but happy look.
"A-actually.." He narrowed his eyes the other way, avoiding eye contact as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I have to meet Wendy up for a date with coffee." He smiled awkwardly, closing his eyes and chuckling.
I remember that name. Kyouse's girlfriend.
"Actually, I haven't heard you talk about Wendy in a long time, is she up to anything?" Roe asked, looking up at an angle to meet his face.
"Well, she's planning on getting a new job, she wants to find one to pay rent for her apartment." Kyouse added, tilting his head down at an angle to meet her face as well.
"I see.. well, don't make me the reason of holding back. Just go see her!" Roe smiled, her navy blue eyes were dull with sadness. They have always been.
"Heh. Thanks Roe, I'll be off!" Kyouse grinned at her, turning around and walking out of the door as the chimes were chiming.
"..." she exhaled loudly, flipping the sign on the door.
"I can deal with it. Roe, you are a strong girl!" She pinched her cheeks, looking out the door as the pastel blue haired girl smiled and wrapped her arms around Kyouse from outside. All Roe cared about is if they were both happy.
