Our Little Secret// Veronica Lodge

Chapter One

The moment Veronica Lodge stepped foot in Riverdale High, the air changed. Students suddenly became more aware. Coincidence? Probably. But Veronica didn't believe in coincidences. She believed everything happened for a reason.
The day, was as Veronica suspected, dull. Nothing happened. She was sick of it by one thirty. She simply couldn't see how everyone was content with this drab life. Had no one ever seen excitement? This was a let-down, Veronica thought. Like when you take a sip of water and it turns out to be sprite.

The only half interesting time was lunch. She'd always been the center focus in the cafeteria, and this school would be no different. She walked in with her head held high, and her shoulders back. Thoughts ran through her mind as she scanned the room, examining all the cliques.
The one she was drawn to wasn't really a clique, but more of a rag-tag group of unfortunates. The people who didn't have a place.
"Hi, can I sit here?" Veronica asked. She was very aware of all the eyes on her, and very aware of the eyes on her behind. She knew it'd been a while since Riverdale got a new student, so it would take some time for them to adjust.
"Um, sure. Although, wouldn't you want to sit with the Vixens? They seem more your- road" Said one of the two boys at the table. Obviously, he was gay. Or it was obvious to Veronica.
She set down her tray next to him, and slid her black hair over her shoulder "Call me special, but I'm not like my cover. Or, I'm trying not to be"
"That's Kevin. Official Gay Best Friend of RiverDale. But don't think he's one to give you snide remarks about your hair. He hates stereotypes" A girl with blonde hair said.
"Hm, who doesn't? They're overrated and worn out" Veronica said.
During introductions, Veronica eyed a poster of a red haired boy in a football uniform. To Veronica, he wasn't the best looking. But if he had a poster, he must be important.
