Drab
Stab
Jabs at my wellbeing
Broken glass driven through my heart
Where to begin to heal
Where to decipher the bad deal
I don’t even know where to start
Drab
Stab
Grab at the little pieces left
Little bits of me still try to cling
Small specs of the real me try to linger
Breathe
Exhale
Entrails of what was once my happiness still drive me
Enliven me
Drab
Stab
Collab on the concoction that is me
Trying to think and see
Clear, but still unable to speak up
Then down, driven right back down
Left me to fucking drown
But I still find myself saving you
Letting you float on my good doings
Watching back in the shadows while you gloat
The good times
Living off my dimes
When was that?
Where does the time go?

For Me?, 5/17/2017, *Bonus Poem #2*
I was made for this
This was laid out for me
Making this struggle with a palatable taste
Reaching, soaring to the top without haste
I was made for this
This was laid out for me
Helping the blind to see
Helping my color to be
Free, sing caged bird
Sing; sing your jives and your praises
Uplifting, keep singing for me
Up, up, up the spirit raises
I was made for this
This was laid out for me
Against this struggle,
I declare war
In my life I deserve more
Your scraps are never enough
You slap chains on me but I am tough
I was made for this
This was laid out for me
The struggle you lay before me does not complete me
This struggle that was made for me defines me
