I was always the invisible one in school, feeling like just a background character in some weird show. I had always tried to get noticed until finally accepting that I'll always be the quiet and invisible girl in life. Until I saw Henry Hart talking to a hologram of Captain Man hovering over his watch and Henry was called Kid Danger. That was two months ago, I've been watching Henry a bit more than usual, I did before because I have a crush on him but that's another story. Actually, it's kind of part of this one since it's Valentine's Day and I may have slipped a note into his locker which he is opening right now.
"Huh? A letter?" he opens the envelope and reads the note out loud with Charlotte right next to him, "I may be invisible but I still like you. Meet me in the park at five for a randevouz?"
"Aww, that's so sweet, who do you think it's from?" Charlotte asks.
"I have no clue but what do you think they meant by 'I may be invisible' ?" Henry wonders out loud.
"I don't know, maybe she's just shy and isn't really noticed, she can't actually be invisible," Charlotte says, "So are you gonna meet her?"
"I don't know, maybe, relationships are hard though with my job and all," Henry says as he slips his backpack onto his shoulder, "I gotta get to work, later," he says before walking out of the school.
"He should at least go to let the girl down gently," Char says then walks away.
-The park at 5:15-
I've been waiting for almost twenty minutes but I wasn't angry or sad because there was a robbery at an antique shop that had to be handled.
Henry raced to the park and looked around, "I'm here, I don't know if you still are, sorry for the wait," he says as he looks around still.
I stand up and walk over to him, "I'm still here and it's fine that you're late, I'm sure you have a good excuse that I don't need to hear," I say as I stand in front of him.
"Wait, who are you?" he asks.
I chuckle softly and rub my arm, "Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I'm invisible in school so of course you wouldn't know me," I say, "I sit behind you in every class, my name is Phoenix."
"Phoenix? That name sounds familiar," he says.
"My full name is Phoenix Crystal Fire, most people who notice me call me Fee," I say.
"Fee! I do know you, but I guess I forgot," he says.
"It's okay, really, you probably only came here to say you don't feel the same," I mess with the hem of my shirt, "I'm used to rejection."
"Oh, no, no, no," he says quickly, "Actually my friend Charlotte convinced me to give you a chance."
"Really? Thank you, that's really sweet, I'll have to thank her on Monday," I say, "So if you don't have anything to do tomorrow, would you like to go to Montego's with me?"
"Did you say Montego's? How did you get invited there?" Henry asks.
"My dad is friends with the owner from high school," I say.
"Um, yeah, I'd love to go with you," he says with a smile.
"Alright, so I'll drop by your house tomorrow to get you around ten am, is that alright?" I bite my lip.
"Yeah, I'll be ready by then, I'll be waiting for you," Henry says, "Wait, how do you know where I live?"
"I live across the street from you, I have for ten years," I say.
"I never noticed," he says, "I didn't know those people had a kid."
"I stay in my room most of the time, I'm not a very outdoorsy girl," I say before handing him a card with my number on it, "Here, call me anytime, I gotta go. I'll see you tomorrow," I say then run off, jumping into my bike, riding back to my house.
