She's bright like glitter and bubbly like champagne. -Anon

He cupped her face in his warm hands and leaned forward. He's even more handsome up close. Those piercing brown eyes. That charming smile.

She smiled shyly as she breathed in his scent. He smelled just like the ocean breeze. And as their lips nearly touched, he stopped and whispered in her ear. "Wake up."

"What?" she asked, confused.

Suddenly, there's a loud beeping sound.

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.

Rachel woke up with a start. "Fucking alarm. Cock blocker," she grumbled, groping under her pillow for her damned phone. Yes, she was fully aware of the dangers of radiation. She just chose to live with it. #Thuglife

Eyes still tightly shut, she expertly hit the snooze button (like she does every morning). Putting her extensive mathematics knowledge to use,  she calculated how much longer she can afford to sleep and not be late to class. Deciding that she could sleep for another fifteen minutes at the cost of skipping her morning shower, she snuggled back into her warm sheets.

Rachel's definitely got her priorities straight.

She hoped she would return to her dream of kissing her prince charming.

----------

"Rachel, you're late," Mr Simon stated the obvious as he took in Rachel's disheveled appearance. "Thirty eight minutes late, to be exact," he declared, looking at the class clock. She knew that he was internally judging her.

Rachel had ended up snoozing for one hour instead of a mere fifteen minutes. Because of that, not only did she ended up skipping her shower, she had to skip her breakfast too. Plus, she had no time to brush her hair and she's hiding it by using a beanie. She's also still wearing the same clothes she slept in. A plain shirt and joggers. Talk about being 'fashionably' late.

She could hear snickers from the entire class. She turned and glared at them. Please just concentrate on your physics textbooks, people. This is the main reason why there are no Einsteins from this generation. We're too busy judging people for being late.

Rachel delivered her best apologetic smile, "I'm truly sorry, Sir. It won't happen again." Mr Simon nodded, "This is your last warning. But, be more mindful." He might have forgotten the fact that he had given Rachel another 'last warning' two classes ago. "Thank you, Sir." She knew that most teachers gave her immunity because she had always topped the class, year after year.

She hastily slid into her usual seat and sighed in relief. With great grades come great privileges? Well, for once, she's not complaining.

Hi, Little Ms Rainbow here:

This is my first story ever so I'm super super excited and also super super nervous. I'll be kicking off with a light first chapter. Heheheh Just so you guys can get to know our main character, Rachel. I hope you stay tuned to see how her character develops. She is way more than what she appears to be.

Thank you so so much for taking the time to read. I'll be updating once a week, hopefully with longer chapters.

Love you, readers.

PS: Those parts in Italics happened in the past, in the imaginations/minds of the characters or in their dreams. And the 10 dashes ---------- represents a change in scene. Hope it's not confusing.
