" I love you" Jacob whispered. He had said it, the word that I was so desperately afraid to say. But in this moment, it felt right, I belonged with Jacob and we would be together forever. "I love you too." I whispered back. I didn't realize then, I just believed the greatest lie of my life.
"Emma, wait up!" Harper shouted across the parking lot of Hough High. "How did your date go last night with Jacob?" she asked, slowing down as she caught up to me. "He told me he loved me!" I said, a huge smile spreading across my face. "Oh my God no way!! That's awesome Em! Your last day of summer seems like it was way better than mine, as usual my parents not home, and I stay home by myself bored out of my mind. And I have no boyfriend to keep me company." She said with an over-dramatic frown on her face. "Having a boyfriend isn't everything you know?" I replied. "Well, first goal of junior year, is for me to get a boyfriend." "Good luck!" I said sarcastically. Boyfriend I thought, it had just occurred to me that I had never actually called Jacob my boyfriend before. "Anyways see you at lunch Em!" Harper said excitedly. "Yeah, uh bye!" I said shutting my locker. Oops, I totally didn't hear a word Harper said, oh well, she was probably just drooling over some guy.
UGH. First period, chemistry. Of course I was sitting by myself, Jacob and his sister Zoe didn't go to my school, I only had two classes with Harper, and one class with my sister. Ah, my sister. My sister, my twin sister. Ella and I were twins, but we didn't look anything alike, most people didn't believe we were sisters. But in what we didn't look alike, we made up for in our personality. Our personality's were exactly the same. We could practically read each others minds. We were each others best friend.
My thoughts were interrupted by Mr. Walter's loud voice. "Hello Class, I would like you to welcome our new students, Brody and his brother Bryce. They are non identical twins, make sure to give them a warm welcome." Wow. He was right, they looked nothing alike, but their style of dressing was the same. Just like my sister and I. Brody was tall, tan skin, dark chocolate brown hair, and the most beautiful blue eyes I had ever seen. His brother, Bryce, was also tall, but had pale skin, blonde hair, and brown eyes. They were both wearing casual jeans and a t-shirt, except Brody wore a black leather jacket, that made him very mysterious.
"Alright you two, can have a seat now." Mr. Walter said, eager to start his lesson.
"Hey there cutie, what's your name?" Brody taunted as he sat down next to me.
And that was the end of my life as I knew it.
