I was walking to the library listening to music through my headphones. I was planning on returning the books I had borrowed. I could smell the heavy exhaust coming off from the cars. I could hear yelling, not like blood curdling screaming, and not like scolding. It was more like "get back here you hoodlum!" When I got a little closer I saw someone, probably the manager, stepping out the door and yelling some more, shaking his fist.
Was there a robbery? Shoplifter? Maybe someone gave him a moldy piece of bread? Who knows. It's Tulsa, anything could happen.
I was cut out of my thoughts when I saw a teenage boy running straight at me. He wore a white tightly fitted shirt and long jeans. He wasn't even looking to where he was going. He had his head turned, looking behind him. He was probably super hot (temperature wise) in those jeans, since it was hot outside. I didn't notice that he was coming my way, I was too distracted by my music and I was staring at the ground, making sure that I didn't trip on any of the cracks in the sidewalk. By the time I looked up, it was too late. He had ran into me and knocked me to the ground. I let out a little yelp, and he was on top of me. He tried to scurry to get up, but stopped when he looked into my eyes. He looked confused, then angry, then scared. I probably looked the same. I pushed him off of me and he continued running, yelling "Sorry!" as he was running off. Obviously not sincere.
I sat up and looked back. I was still trying to process what had just happened. He was running full speed, with the police tailing him. He took a sharp turn and they lost him. "He must be pretty smart with this kinda stuff" I thought.
I was too distraught to notice that my books all fell. My phone was in my jacket pocket, so it didn't have that far of a fall. I checked it just in case, it was perfectly fine. I quickly picked up all my books and my phone and continued to the library. I brushed the dirt and little pebbles off the covers as I walked closer to my second home.

I walked in and walked up to the large front desk. It was clean, which was normal. The librarians like to keep everything clean. It was very quiet in the library, as it should be, and I loved that. I love the quiet. Sometimes jocks will come in and be super loud, which is a real disappointment. Luckily, it doesn't happen very often. Once in a blue moon. My favorite time to go to the library is when it isn't very busy. The only thing I don't like about libraries is that it isn't outdoors. I love the outdoors, so if they made an outdoor library, I would never leave.
"Hi, Sadie! Here to return books?" Asked Mrs. Sharon, she's the lady at the front desk. Mrs. Sharon was a woman in her late twenties who had a passion for teaching. She was super nice, and one time she brought her baby to work and I got to hold her! She had red hair that was always in a french twist type of hair bun. She had a motherly vibe to her that I responded so well to. I loved that she already knows my name. It makes me feel more at home. She loved me, she loved that I was one of the only teenagers who still enjoys to go into a library and sit down and simply read. I do love my phone, don't get me wrong, but books are a better escape for me.
"Yes, I am. And to check out a few more." I giggled softly and looked down. I handed her the books and I went off looking for another few.
It's been a few minutes and I found a book called Gone With The Wind. It looks interesting, but it also didn't seem like it. I have this problem with every book, I always found something wrong with it. It really bothered me, I wish I could just love every single book I saw. I grabbed the book off the shelf and looked around some more. No books seemed interesting. Did I run out of books to read? This is going to be difficult.

I walked back up to the front desk and put the book down. Mrs. Sharon looked up from her computer and smiled. "Do you guys have any new books coming in soon? Unfortunately, this was all I could find that's interesting." I looked at her. "How many books have I ever borrowed?" I asked, with an impatient tone in my voice.
"I' sorry, sweetpea, but not for a while. I believe you have checked out... Uh... 52" Mrs. Sharon looked at the computer for the information.
"Okay.. how many books are in the library?"
"Around 4.000, why?"
I silently cursed under my breath. I thought it was more than that. "Nothing.. I'll just get going now. Bye, Mrs. Sharon!" I said as I grabbed my now checked out book.
"Bye, hun!" She said as I walked out, putting my earbuds back in.
