Some things to keep in mind:
-While her parents are witches and wizards respectively, b has ancestors and relatives who are muggles. Subsequently, the whole "pureblood" thing is discouraged.
-Her Dad is fascinated by muggles and muggle technology similarly to Arthur Weasley.
-Her Mom works for the Ministry of Magic in the Magical Transportation department.
Also, while b's letters are in chronological order, they are not necessarily day to day.
