prologue

"There's no point in struggling Belle. You won't escape these chains" Gabe's voice echoed off the stone walls of the large room where his 9am patient was struggling against the restrains designed to keep her in her chair. A small smile playing at his lips as he made his way towards the blonde girl who never failed to amaze him. Whether it was her witty, smug comments or the physical and emotional strength of the girl. She was young, too young to be locked up in an Institute, he believed. But how did she end up here? Dr. Gabriel Sparks has been her therapist for almost two years now and still has not managed to find out what messed her up.

"Anything that might get me out of here is worth a shot, Doc" the girl grinned up at the tall blonde in a lab coat. Something about the way she was looking at him made him feel uneasy. She had an overly big smile. A smile crazy enough to make him intrigued and scared for his life all at once.

"Darling there's no escaping this place" he sat down in a chair on the opposite side of the wooden table to her, before softly placing down and opening up his notebook. "So," he began, looking through his notebook which consisted of his thought on the subject. Just thoughts seeing as the subject refuses to give him any facts about herself. "What would you like to talk about today, Belle?"

"You." she stated seriously and leaned forwards, locking eyes with him.

"You know these sessions aren't arranged for you to talk about me"

"Oh really" she answers raising an eyebrow, sounding majorly interested. "what are they arranged for, doc?"

"If i remember correctly I told you that 2 years ago when you first got yourself locked up in here" Gabe looks at his watch and then back at the girl as her eyebrows scrunch up, looking confused.

"Two years? Hmmm I've known you for a long time now then haven't I?" Annabelle leaned back in her chair, a smirk makes its way to her lips.

He looks at Belle in silence, hoping she will tell him what's running through her mind.

"Hey doc," she whispers and leans over the table slightly, so he could hear her without being heard through the recorders she suspected were hidden in the room. "let's make a deal. I tell you everything. But when I escape…” Belle paused, looking around the room, before meeting his gaze once more “you'll be the first person I'll be killing"

"Deal" Gabe responds without thinking, too distracted with excitement, eager to find out the dark secrets hidden behind the crazy mask she puts on. He wasn't the least bit worried about his life, believing their security was top notch.

She could never escape.
