Darcia POV
Work. That was what took up the majority of my time. The time I could have used to be a good wife to my husband, Jett, and a good mother to my daughter, Athena. I worked everyday throughout the year. Even during the holidays. I work at Shadow Corp. as the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) and I am working on building my own company to help the environment. All of my work took most of my time away from Jett and Athena.
My precious Athena is probably smarter than the Greek goddess herself when she was Athena's age. Even though I am not around her much I have always been there for the big moments. I was there when she made her first steps at eleven months old, and I was there to hear her first words being, "Mama" when she was a year and two months. By the time Athena turned six Athena had already taught herself how to speak fluent English, Spanish, and Tagalog. She had also already taught herself how to play the piano, violin, and guitar. At the moment Athena is teaching herself how to play the drums and how to speak French while studying Filipino mythology.
Athena is not only smart, but she is quite the sight to behold. She will probably be as beautiful as the goddess Aphrodite. Maybe even more gorgeous than the Greek goddess could ever hope to be. I say this because she has a much softer version of Jett's emerald eyes, and her rich walnut skin compliment them. Athena already has long, thick dirty blonde hair that goes up to her waist. She has my dirty blonde hair, my thin, dark brown eyebrows, and thin pink lips that will probably get fuller as she ages.
You could say that my husband was an above average man. He has a chiseled face with intense emerald eyes. With perfect teeth and soft, luscious jet black hair, and skin so smooth and the perfect shade of tan from when he used to work in the fields in the Philippines before he immigrated to California when he was younger. Underneath the clothes was not a completely different story. He had abs. Not just little tiny abs that are still developing. I mean full hard abs and his arms had the same story. His arms were not too big and not too small. Other women had described him as a "God" but I never saw him as one.
I met Jett while we were in high school. We went to the local high school where we lived at the time in Sacramento, California. He was the most popular guy at our school at the time. I met him in my sophomore year when I transferred in. Jett was a senior at the time, I met Jett while I was getting my schedule at the school office. Jett was there as an office TA, and the man at the front desk asked Jett to show me around. After that day Jett and I started hanging out more often and he became my best friend and protected me from any threat that came at me that I didn't see coming. Although everyone else opposed such a friendship because of our age differences we still hung out every day during and after school at the local library. Imagine how everyone reacted when he had asked me out.
I never actually wanted to go out on a date with Jett, but he was my best friend. I could never hurt his feelings, and if you had seen the look on his face when I hadn't said anything since he first popped the question. So I said yes.
When I had gotten home that day, I tried to think of a way out of going on a date with Jett without having to hurt his feelings. But every solution I thought of ended with me hurting him.
So I went on my first date with him, and we went out on three more dates until he asked me to be his girlfriend. Of course, being the considerate person I was I said yes. After that I figured there was no point in trying to get out of my relationship with Jett if I didn't want to hurt his feelings, so I figured I would learn to love him in the way he loves me.
After seven years we have still been together and I had graduated from college with a masters in business and finance. Jett graduated two years before me with a masters degree, and he became a teacher in Los Angeles, California at the Ocean View Academy.
