When Two Worlds Collide

•Chapter Twenty Two•

HAYDEN'S POV
It's been a few days, and Annie still hasn't woken up. She's on life support, and I'm a complete mess. I've been at the hospital every day and night, and I haven't slept at all. I'm so nervous for Annie. She doesn't deserve this at all. This is all my fault. I should've stopped her before she walked into her room. I should've tried my hardest to keep her. I almost lost Annie once, now I'm slowly losing her again. But this time it might be forever.

MJ-Hayden, you should really get some rest. You haven't had a wink of sleep since this happened.
H-Dad, I can't fall asleep knowing the condition she's in. I've tried, but I can't. I love her so much, and I can't lose her. I need her.
MJ-I need to tell you something Hayden.
H-What?
MJ-Annie's parents said that if she's not awake by next week, they're taking her off life support.
H-WHAT??? NO! THEY CANT!
MJ-Trust me Hayden, they are as heartbroken as you are, but they don't want her suffering.

I run out of the room sobbing. I go outside to get some fresh air. They can't do this to Annie. She has to keep fighting. I can't lose her. I have to call Kenzie. She has to know what she did.

(During the phone call)

K- Well look who finally called back.
H-Kenzie, you have no idea the pain you are putting Annie's family through right now. Because of you, she tried to commit suicide. Because of you, she's in the hospital and is on life support. Because of you, she might die! You got what you wanted Kenzie. I hope you're happy now.
K-But wait Hayden!
H-Save it Kenzie. I hate you, and I never want to see or hear from you again.

I end the call and walk back to Annie's room. She's the only one in there. I hold her hand and start talking to her.

H-Annie, I know you probably can't hear me, but you have to keep fighting. Your family is a wreck without you, your friends are a wreck without you, I'm a wreck without out. I love you so much Annie, and I can't live without you. You mean the world to me, and I don't know how I would cope without you in my life. You can't let go. I need you more than anything. Please. Do it for me.

Then the nurses come in, and they tell me to go home, shower, and take a nap. I kiss Annie on the forehead and, I whisper "I love you" to her. I walk out the door and get into my dad's car. I know she can do this. She just has to stay strong.
