I woke up to the annoying sound of my alarm going off, reminding me that school awaits me. Although I really don't mind school, I mean I hate work and all that but, I get to leave my house which is worse than hell. It's not that I have a really bad life physically,  mostly just mentally.

Honestly I am grateful for the roof over my head, clothes on my body and food on the table. I'm just tired of the way i'm treated. You see I live with my dad and my step mom with one older sister and two little ones.

My little sisters are my half sisters my older sister Callie, she's my only full sibling. My dad and my biological mom split up a long time ago. I believe iI was two and Callie was three or four. I don't remember very much about her, my mom that is other than the fact that it didn't end well. so my dad remarried and it was okay for a while I mean I knew his new wife never wanted to start out with children so she has always resented me and Callie, who's now sixteen and i'm fifteen and I should probably head to school.

After throwing on some skinny jeans and a black shirt with my vans and doing some quick makeup I quietly headed upstairs and out the door, I didn't want to wake up my step mom Jessica.

I shut the door and pulled my phone out of my jacket pocket and texted Jacee, my all time best friend since I moved up here she literally lives right across the street from me. Shes always been there for me even though we've had many fights, since we got older there hasn't been as many.

Me: " I'm ready, Come out so we don't miss the bus."

Jacee: "Okay i'll be out in a second."

Her door opened and she stepped out after hollering a quick goodbye to her mom. she pulled on her jacket and walked over to greet me.

" Hey Ali, what's up? " she asked crossing the street.

" Not much. Just the usual dreading going home and dreading going to school, yet I haven't even made it to either yet."

She laughed and grabbed my hand as we started down the street to the bus stop. " Has Jessica been better?"

" Not even a little bit. Last night she yelled at me because I told Summer to stop throwing toys at me. I mean come on who the hell sides with a three year old."

" Only your step mom. That's dumb though, where was your dad?"

" Outside smoking, nothing new. Just four more years and i can leave." We arrived at the bus stop and I turned to face her. " I just cant wait to leave and be on my own, i'm tired of being treated like shit by my family."

" Yeah I understand."

" Not many people do, it doesn't help that from an outside point of view my family looks normal."

"Except its not, although you have a point. I only know its not because I've known you for a long time and have seen all of it happen."

" True, if my dad says its okay, can I come over after school? I don't really want to go directly home."

" Of course. You know my mom doesn't care she understands too." Jacee answered stepping onto the bus that finally arrived and walking to the back two seats which we claimed at he begging of the year.

Taking a seat I pulled out my phone and earbuds turned on some music then proceeded to text my dad so, he could answer before he went to work.

Me: "Hey dad, is it okay if I go to Jacee's after school for an hour or two?"

Dad: " I don't care. Just be home before dark and make sure you do some sort of chore so Jessica doesn't get mad."

Me: " Okay, please tell her you gave me the okay to go over so I don't get yelled at later."

Dad: " Okay, love you, see ya later."

I pulled out my earbuds and told Jacee my dad said it was okay, she nodded and I wrapped up my earbuds and put them away just as we got to the school. I pulled my backpack on and walked of the bus, stopping to say a quick thank you to the driver.

I go to an old Jr high, it's pretty pretty lame but it gets the job done I guess. I walk in the front doors and ran into Hannah, another good friend of mine.

" Hey Ali! How's it been?"

" Pretty good-" I was cut off by the bell. " Well I guess ill catch up with you later." I laughed hugging her

" For sure."

The rest of the day went by pretty fast. before I knew it I was leaving Jacee's and hurrying to do the dishes or something so I didn't have to hear it from Jessica.

I opened the door and Jessica was standing at the top of the stairs with her arms crossed.

" Where the fuck have you been?"

Shocked because I thought she knew because I had asked my dad to tell her. I stammered out an answer. " I-I was at Jacee's. I asked dad if i could this morning and he said it was fine. He told me he'd tell you."

Glaring she uncrossed her arms and walked down the stairs and stood in front of me. " Your dad isn't here. You knew he was working tonight. You ask me not him!"

"Why does it matter? at least I asked! I wasn't doing anything wrong."

" Why do you always have to have a attitude! I swear to god you and your sister always have to make things worse around here! Why can't you just fucking listen!" She pushed me back against the couch and got really close to my face. " I wish you and your sister would just leave! Go live with your shitty excuse of a mother or your grandma!"

" Maybe we will! " I yelled Accidentally waking up Summer.

" Now look what you did! It took me forever to get her asleep!"

" I-I'm sorry! I didn't- " She slapped me hard cutting me off.

" Get the fuck away from me I don't want to see you for the rest of the night!" Crying hard I grabbed my backpack and went into my room, plugged up my phone and got in bed and listened to music until I calmed down enough to fall asleep.
