10 - Switching Pairs

The night was getting darker as the people fills the drive-in.
Kevin was chilling at the back of his pick-up truck with Veronica sitting beside her left was Ms. Jauregui and on the right was Archie. Ethel was lying beside Kevin.

"Hey guys, Ethel and I will get some popcorns and drinks, need anything?" Kevin nudged Ethel for her to follow, which the girl immediately did.

Veronica got up, "I'll go with you-"

"No, stay. I'll get what you need." Lauren cut her off, Veronica was about to fight her and disagree, but just sighed in defeat when her cousin and friends took off already. Leaving her with Archie.

She sat back down beside Archie, glancing to the left side, where Betty was cuddled up beside Reggie on his topdown car. "Arch, do you think they would make a great couple?" She asked to the boy beside her.

Archie sat up, "I don't know. I don't know any guy that would match Betty, cause she deserves the best." He looked at the two, "Why did you ask?"

Veronica turned to face the red headed boy. "I don't know, it's just- Do you like Betty?" She switched back.

Archie frowned, "I told you, you're the one I-"

Veronica cut off, "No, answer my question by yes or no."

The red headed boy sighed, "I don't know, Veronica. I-" He stared intently at the dark haired girl. "I love her as a friend, I never thought of Betty as more than a friend."

As the three were falling in line to get food and drinks, they chatted about the couples they left behind.

"Did you feel the tension I felt while we were having dinner?" Kevin whispered to the two girls on her left and right.

"Yeah, Veronica looked so jealous." Ethel mumbled loudly. Realizing that they're with a teacher also Veronica's cousin, she stopped herself from talking. "I'm sor-"

"No no no, it's totally fine. And I felt it too." Lauren smiled at the two, "In fact, I have a plan." She smirked.

They were already at the front of the counter, "What plan?" The guy on the counter said. They looked up to see that it was Jughead, he winked at the group. "May I take your orders first?" He asked.

Betty's POV

After the dinner we went straight up to the drive-in. I decided to stay with Reggie because yeah, I introduced him as my date.

"Betty, do you think I have chance on Veronica?" The jet-black haired guy asked while he was looking at the group on the other car. "I mean, does I have more chance than Archie?"

I suddenly felt a pang of jealousy, I just can't put my finger wether I'm jealous because of Archie and Veronica being together or just basically we're talking about Veronica being with someone that wasn't me. I really can't understand my feelings right now.
"Maybe you have more chance than Archie, cause she said she don't want to be in a relationship with a friend of hers." I honestly explained, Reggie just gave a simple nod still staring at the dark haired girl.

They were now standing up, Kevin and Ethel. Then Veronica sat up, and Ms. Jauregui stood up too. What the hell are they talking about? Veronica had a frown on her face and got back on sitting beside Archie. I saw Kevin with Ethel and Ms. Jauregui jogging up to our way.

Kevin tapped the hood of the car, "Guys, want something to eat?" He asked, I saw that Ms. Jauregui and Ethel were whispering at each other with smirks plastered on their faces.
