There.

Felicity's locker was stocked up and she was all ready to start her senior year.

As she was closing the door to her locker, she turned around to see someone tall and good looking behind her, with a backpack on, but she didn't recognize him.

"Felicity Smoak?"

His voice sounded like one that would come from someone who would protect her, someone who she would trust.

She finished closing the door and turned around to face him.

"Hi, I'm Oliver Queen."

Oh...Oliver. She knew this kid. That football player from last year her best friend Sara dated for like a month, going straight to her older sister for like a month afterwards...why the hell was he talking to her? Why here and why now?

"Hey Oliver. What's up? Do you need something? Are you and Sara back together or something? Do I need to tell you something about her?"

Oliver gave her a strange look, but then slightly smiled.

"No actually I just wanted to know what you had first period."

"Oh...well in that case..."

Not having a single thing about her schedule memorized yet, Felicity unfolded the piece of paper that had it, feeling a little awkward as always.

"English. With Ms. Blanchard, down the hall over there."

Before Oliver could say anything else, the warning bell rang, but since he was headed in the same direction as her, she knew what he would have said.

Yep, they had the same class.

Felicity saw Sara sitting in the back, with her blonde, wavy hair on her shoulders as she stared down at the notebook she wrote on.

"Hey Sara. Can I tell you something real quick before the teacher gets here? It's important. And I have to whisper because it's about someone in here."

"Yeah, sure girl you can tell me anything."

"Okay so Oliver, your ex boyfriend, came up to me today and I think he may have been flirting with me. I mean he took time out of his day just to come over to my locker and ask what I had first period, which was this class."

Felicity was going to talk more, but realized she was rambling. Why did that always happen?

Sara smiled at her.

"Okay I think you're freaking out too fast. If anything else happens let me know, but you can't just assume a guy is flirting with you because he talks to you. There has to be signs. I know this because I've done it so many times."

Felicity looked down at her desk, and then up at her best friend again.

"Oh, okay. I guess that makes sense."

Sara started laughing.

"Oh my gosh do you like him?"

"Noooooo not at all I promise. First of all I'd never date someone that has dated you, and second, he doesn't even seem like that great of a person. Plus, I don't need a boyfriend right now. I need to focus on my school future."

Just then, a woman average height with short, dark brown hair walked in.

"Hi, I'm Ms. Blanchard. Your English teacher."

The class period for the most part consisted of rules being explained, until the last few minutes, where the beginning-of-year project was explained.

"Okay now I'm going to randomly pair you up. Nobody will be working with the people they've been talking to the whole period, because that wouldn't make me a good teacher now would it?"

The whole class looked at her as she was reading off the pairs, a little annoyed, except Felicity who didn't mind.

"Dinah and Curtis. Sara and Nyssa. Oliver and Felicity."

Oh shit.

Oliver had seen enough movies and tv shows to know how this went. Boy gets partnered with girl for school project, girl agrees to study with boy, boy and girl do something that's not studying in their studying location.

He liked Felicity, and he was always confident with himself. So when the time came he was going to just go for it.

When the next bell rang, all the students pretty much just grabbed their books and ran out of the classroom as fast as they could.

Oliver went to Felicity's locker again during that passing period. They had 7 minutes, which was considered long compared to other schools.

"Do you want to get a head start on that project later tonight at my house? If you're not doing anything?"

Felicity looked down at her pile of books that was on the ground, and then back up while turning to face Oliver.

"Oh. Um...okay? As long as you promise not to turn into the jerk that makes the smart girl nobody likes do all the work, only because they apparently need to get the good grade they don't deserve."

He wanted to tell her that there were people who liked her. People like him. But he couldn't. Not yet. He couldn't tell her yet.

"I promise."

"Okay. What's your address?"
