This story is inspired by Boys Over Flowers/Hana Yori Dango/Meteor Garden, The Heirs, Ouran High School Host Club, and Special A.

If you've seen any of these you'll probably understand which ideas are from which show.

I've read many stories with similar plots but I got tired of reading the most predictable lines and characters falling in love after three chapters, so I took it upon myself to make my own.

Class Elite - Prologue

"You should be more like your sister, Athena!" Her mother scolded her. Instead of arguing back Athena kept quiet, not wanting to upset her mother further.

Everyday, instead of practicing her cursives, Athena would stay seated up in her chair, observing her fellow classmates. It wasn't like she did it to frustrate the teachers, but it was because it was the only thing she found enjoyable. She would draw pictures of them in her pink journal and create imaginary worlds for them.

Her mother didn't appreciate her creativity though.

While her sister was with her friends, braiding each other's hairs, Athena was to stay at home and study for her nonexistent handwriting tests.

"Leave her alone, Eliza. She's just a kid," Her father rolled his eyes in annoyance. Though he did not do it for Athena, she mentally thanked him when her mother didn't utter a word back.

Mia turned to her little sister and smirked in triumph. She never liked her little sister. The boys in elementary always preferred Athena over her because of her 'pretty eyes' and 'soft hair'. But their mother had always favored Mia. She stuck her tongue out and turned her head back to the window of the car.

Athena sighed quietly, fighting back the tears. She was always compared to her older sister. Unlike her, Mia was smart and talented. When Athena won student of the week, Mia would win student of the month. When Athena received an 'A' on her painting, Mia would receive an 'A+' on hers. Nonetheless, she shook it off, telling herself everyone is different.

The car soon fell silent and only the sounds of rain pelting against the moving car filled Athena's ears. They were heading home from a visit to her Aunt's.

She didn't enjoy the trips to her mother's sister.

The thick silence was soon cut by the sound of her mother's shriek. Athena shot up from her seat, turning towards her mother who held a phone in her hands.

"John, who is this texting you?!"

Her father glared, "it's probably Paul or David."

Eliza was furious. She would always wake up in the middle of the night and find her husband missing and sometimes, her sleep would be interrupted by the sound of John laughing at something on his phone. It was evident that the text was not from one of his poker buddies.

"Oh yeah?! Paul would totally be thanking you for a necklace and for taking him out to a dinner," She laughed bitterly, sarcasm dripping from her words.

"Eliza, this is none of your con-," John took his phone back before she could see anything else, causing Eliza to try and pull it back from him.

A deathly play of tug of war erupted between the two.

Eliza had lost all romantic interest for John a long time ago, in fact she had never felt any sort of interest in him.

She dealt with his inattentive behavior and constant disappearances. She was suspicious at first but tried to turn to a blind eye. Eliza fought hard to keep the marriage alive, not for love but for her financial security for her favored daughter- Mia. But now that all her assumptions were correct, she had let herself express her anger and frustrations towards the man.

She had never once loved him, she had locked him for his money. Eliza had planned on securing him by a one night stand and that was when Athena was brought into the picture, a fixed way to keep the man and his money in her life.

Though she never loved John, Eliza would be damned to be known as the one who got cheated on. She was more angry about the embarrassment rather than his low devotion for her. It would cause too much of a stain in her reputation- not that she had a great one to start with.

In the back seat, Mia and Athena looked at each other in fear. They've always hated it when their parents fought. Only at these times that they faced each other's differences and would stay huddled together inside their rooms whenever it occurred, waiting till they would stop.

But it was when the car began to swerve left and right that for the first time, the girls had finally tried stopping them.
