Here is a made-up narrative of a Spanish attack on a village of Pueblo Indians in New Mexico in the late 1500s or 1600s. Invasions similar to the depiction below did happen. In the late 16th century, most Pueblos had never seen a horse or a metal implement. Many were killed or made slaves; their food storages were plundered, and homes were burned.
