They swirled by, resplendent in jewel tones. She in rich emerald greens and sapphire blues, and he in a darker emerald green uniform dripping with bright gold ropes and embroidery. They looked like the perfect couple, and everybody was thinking the same thing: 'The prince has found his bride! What a beautiful happily-ever-after...". But Gloriette knew better. She knew what darkness hid behind that brilliant smile and feathered mask. She knew the machinations that lay subtly inside that uniform, just underneath the surface. Oh, how many times had she heard the schemes and evil plots from the both of them! Gloriette was not fooled. But the world was. And Gloriette would make sure no one would grow any wiser.
Cinderella and Prince Charming would stay just that: a happily ever after story, a faerie tale. Gloriette would force this happy mask on the couple if it was the last thing she did.
They would not win.

Don't forget to vote and comment! Happy Reading and Productive Brainstorming! ~RebelRabWinter
