Prologue

"Just jump!" Ashley yelled out to Jake who was shivering like a chihuahua.

"It's ahh pretty high" Jake stuttered. Jake peered down the cliff to see the ocean where Ashley was.

"Don't be a chicken!" Ashley called out while making chicken noises.

Jake gave two steps backwards and let out a quick sigh. He runs. He looks straight forward while biting his bottom lip. He feels his feet on the edge of the cliff slide off. He falls straight down with a "Whoooooo!" Ashley lets out a giggle and watches Jake fall off into the water. Splash! Jake plummets down into the water and starts to swim up. He opens his eyes to see the sunlight glaring down onto the water above him. He reaches out towards the light and pushes himself up to see Ashley beside him treading water while giggling.

Jake shakes his head and his brown, short hair whips side to side like a dog does after a bath.

"That was graceful" Ashley mocks "I give that a 7.5/10". Jake smiles and lets his straight, white teeth show.

"Glad you liked it" Jake laughed.

Ashley hasn't been the same, adventurous girl like she used to be. She used to call up Jake at two in the morning asking if he wanted to go drive around the neighborhood. Ashley used to be the head cheerleader at school. She used to always smile at school and be everyones heart stopping crush.

Jake never knew why she stopped coming to school and why she never called him at two in the morning anymore. Where was she?
