Memories slip away like the
tide on the shore; yours
though, always comes back.
We may be forgotten by the
world, but I could never
forget you.

"Naalala mo ba yung nahuli tayo nung plano natin magcut ng class?" Jho's eyes were dreamy, like the memory was amusing when it actually happened.

She laughed heartily as she vividly recalled how they were scolded by their biology professor. She was one of the old ones and when it comes to those kinds, it's ensured that you'll crawl your way to a D or fail unless you're a super genius or a teacher's pet.

"Oo naman. We almost gave her a heart attack."

She felt Jho's fingers lightly pushing her cheek to the side.

"Kasalanan mo kasi eh," she accused playfully.

"Bakit ako lang? Yes, it was my idea pero..." she quickened her pace in walking to cut Jho off her tracks. "pumayag ka naman."

Jho rolled her eyes, a gesture she does when she can't accept defeat in their banters. She linked their arms and started walking again.

"We were clearly failing that class anyway. Better luck next time. Mapilit ka kasi. Gusto mo kahit isang class, magkaklase tayo."

"Alam mo naman iba yung course ko at ang hirap ayusin yung sched," Bea mimicked her best friend's voice. "Memorize ko na. On repeat kaya yan the whole school year. Ugh."

"Loko. We're always in trouble kasi and that one was really bad."

They reached their destination after a few minutes of trudging along the campus and made their way to the center of the field.

"Ang bilis ng oras, 'no? Dati, Coach Tai would make us run laps here. This was our hell. Now, it will all be just memories."'

"Correction. Unforgettable memories," Jho retorted.

They sat on the grass, facing the sun on the west. It was still shining bright even when it was a bit late already. Nights have been shorter and days were longer, which Jhoana was thankful for because she gets to spend more hours with Bea. Her mom has been insistent and demanding of her time since she graduated so she made a deal with her – daytime is for Bea, nighttime is for family.

Because Bea's all she's got to keep herself sane these days. The thought of Bea holds her rational side together.

"Okay, my turn," Bea murmured in her seat and then leaned her head on Jhoana's. "Do you remember when it was raining hard after training then you dragged me here?"

She giggled and every part of Beatriz was filled with a familiar warmth. She always loved Jhoana's laugh.

"Yup! You were so pissed at me. Ayaw mo sa ulan eh."

"Cause it makes me sick. Duh! Wala ka man lang concern nung dinala mo ako dito."

Jho snuggled closer to her. She never failed to make her feel at home just with the slightest physical contact. There's a certain bond they share that no one can ever break.
