I blinked in the dark, nothing was in my view but darkness. There were a stuffy smell in the room, which made the air very thick and hard to breathe in. I heard a faint breathing, to my left, my heart started to beat rapidly, I tried to look through the darkness while the panic creeped its way up my back. Seeing as before, nothing. With shaking hands, I carefully started to search the ground before me. My right hand stumbled upon some cold metal attached to the ground. It was chains, i followed the trail f chains, attached to my ankles, and stuck to the concrete floor beneath me. I heard the faint breathing again, but this time it sounded more like crying.

My hands searched through the dark air, making my whole body freeze when they fell upon another figure in the dark. I drastically pushed myself further in the darkness and away from the other being in the room, the panic had already drilled its nails through my soul, making my whole body shiver. I heard the figure shifting afraid in the darkness too, now realising that it was probably another person, I wondered if he knew where we were...

My heart beat started to calm down slightly, making my curiosity and courage even bigger, I formed a quick conversation in my head, how it would go if I spoke up. But even though the scenario didn't go as planned, my courage got the best of me and I finally spoked to the figure.

''Hello?'' I whispered quietly, afraid that someone who shouldn't, might hear me. At first, I didn't hear anything from the darkness where the strange figure was, but after what felt like minutes I finally heard a faint, almost dead whisper.

''hi''. The unknown figure, was a girl. her voice was frayed an I could barely hear her, but that bit I did hear underneath the dry and frayed tone, were beautiful. The word flew over her lips so soft and smooth making that one word ever so mesmerizing.

''I'm sorry if I scared you before..'' I whispered, sitting centimeters away, had I only known, then wouldn't have gone gesticulated out in the blue not caring what I hit.

''It's okay, none of us knew we weren't alone...'' she trailed off, I wondered if this was the end of our conversation. More out of need than curiosity I kept talking to her.

''I'm Jake, it's uh nice to meet you'' I stretched my hand out in the darkness, the chains rattled with my movement, now that my eyes had been adjusted a little bit to the darkness, waiting for her to shake it. And to My surprise, she did.

''Hi Jake, I'm Casandra Nice to meet you too'' she took my hand and I almost shivered by the coldness of her hand. At first, she didn't let go, which gave me a better opportunity to really feel her hand in mine. It was so small and cold, so tiny and fragile, just like a child's. A million thought and feelings run through my mind, like who would ever want to hurt this tiny girl?

I were about to ask her more about herself when she told me to stay quiet, I closed my mouth before speaking again and listened. Footsteps, they sounded close, a little too close maybe.
