It was a cold December Saturday morning.
Cas shoved his hands into his pockets as he made his way into the coffee shop. It was freezing, but Lawrence, Kansas didn't even get the pleasure of snow. Cas hadn't seen snow in years, and mother nature deemed he would not see it for a long while.
As soon as the bell chimed when he opened the door, Cas was overwhelmed with the warmth of the shop and the smell of coffee. It was a welcoming sensation after having walked all the way from his house.
He ordered his usual: black coffee with milk and sugar. He was a simple boy, and he liked simple things. He thanked the barista, and took his things to his usual spot.
He unzipped his backpack and brought out a sketchbook. His coffeeshop sketchbook.
He often used this same sketchbook to keep his hands and mind busy. He was told that Game of Thrones was once again taken by the mysterious boy the librarians kept telling him about. The book would probably be back in a day or two, he thought to himself as he opened to a blank page. He knew the other boy's reading habits simply because they happened to like the same books.
He flipped through the pages of random people he decided to draw. Cas thought people were beautiful. All people, big ones, small ones, short ones, tall ones and was amazed and often inspired by different faces, his hobby was drawing, and for him it didnt matter what you looked like, he would draw you and think you are amazing.
He looked around the people in the coffee shop but there wasn't anyone new, the faces were all familiar and Cas sighed. Maybe he could doodle something else instead. His mind was already full of ideas. As hard it was to decide, he finally chose a simple nature landscape, the sun, clouds, every small detail such as the grass and leaves. He was busy drawing as people came and left the coffee shop.
As the door bell chimed, a leather jacket caught his attention. Cas looked at the face and was mesmerized. The boy was beautiful in every way possible, his face was aesthetically pleasing, and Cas genuinely enjoyed looking at him.
"One coffee, black with milk and sugar please" said the guy. The voice Cas heard was husky, rugged, and hella sexy.
As soon as the boy got his coffee, he sat down, adjusted the beanie on his head, and brought out one book.
A Game of Thrones.
It reminded cas of mystery boy, the one who always had the book checked out. But just because he has the book, doesnt mean he is the Mystery boy now, does it?"
Cas never got his pencils out faster than he did in that moment.
The boy held the paperback in one hand, and drank his coffee with the other. He seemed completely unaware of Castiel's doing, and carried on with his reading.
Cas put his heart and soul into this certain drawing, he tried to catch as much as he could and make it as detailed as he wanted. From the way the beanie was covering the blondish hair to the perfect jawline followed by the leather jacked and jeans. Everything had to be on point.
After spending the time on the drawing, he got up and walked over to the man's table. He was going to see if the person didn't mind being drawn.
"Hey," said Cas when he was close enough. The man was most likely just around Cas' age. He looked up from his book and met Cas's eyes. He could swear this was the most beautiful green he has ever seen and his hands itched for the pencil.
"Hello," smiled the green eyed man. He had finished his coffee in the time it took Cas to draw the picture
"I saw you sitting over here, and I come here to draw people, so I came to ask if it's alright with you."
