The new kid

"Ok students we have someone new in our class today. Oliver would you mind coming up here to tell us about yourself." Ms. Winston said. "Sure." Oliver said by the expression on his face he was nervous. " Hi I'm Oliver Ray and I'm 17 and I like to play basketball." He said. "Well we do have a great basketball team." Ms. Winston said. Just so I have your attention Ms. Winston is like an ordinary teacher but she doesn't care about her job. Her favorite part is handing out detentions. Last week I got a detention for running in the halls. To be fair I wasn't running I was quickly walking. For the most part I am a good student.
After class Oliver had lunch with me and it was an adventure.
"Your really going to eat that nasty food." Oliver said.
"Well I'm starving and I don't want to die so yes I will be eating this food." I said personally thinking that was a great remark.
"Hey you never told me that you play basketball?" I said
"I didn't think you would be interested." He said.
"Are you kidding me. I have 7 brothers my life is practically involved around sports." I said

"Well you never told me you had 7 brothers!" He said
Then we both started laughing for some reason. Until the basketball team came over.

"Hey Oliver right?" Josh said.

For your information Josh is the captain of the basketball team who spends all his time doing basketball. Practically every girl is madly in love with him except me. You see me and him aren't speaking ever since I embarrassed him by showing the whole school a picture of him in his sisters bikini. I had to first of all it was hilarious and secondly he did something mean to me. So technically he deserved it.

"Ya." Oliver said
"In class today you said you liked playing basketball and we were wondering if maybe you want to join the team?" Josh said

"Sure." Oliver said.

Personally he probably just said sure because he is afraid of Josh. If I was a guy I know I would. Josh is the professional swirly king. He has given so many guys swirly's that's it's crazy.

"We will see you on the court?" Josh said doing that little smirk that he always does.

" I'll be there." Oliver said.

"So" Oliver said " you didn't look very happy when that guy came over why?"

"Well" I said " last year I showed a picture of him in his sisters bikini."

"And you hate him why?" Oliver said

"I did that to him because last year he cut my hair and I was known as lopsided pony tale." I said feeling upset.

"Well you wouldn't mind if I was on the team with him would you." Oliver said

"No I wouldn't mind why would I mind I don't care I.. have fun." I said. Thinking in my mind though I realized that what if Oliver left me. I know we aren't good friends but I guess I just am scared.

That day after school I ran into Oliver.
"Hey Oliver I haven't seen you in a while are you ok." I said

"Ya I'm fine I was just at basketball practice." He said

"Oh" I said "well do you want to go get ice cream together?" I said

"Of course I will go." He said

"Can we take your car?" I asked

"Sure we can take my car." He said

As we were driving to the sweet ice cream I noticed that Oliver's was smiling really big.

"So you made the basketball team." I asked

"How did you know." He said

"Well when I saw you, you said you were at basketball practice and you are also smiling really wide." I said.

We finally arrived after all the traffic and got the usual. I got the chocolate chip and he got the triple raspberry with fudge.

"So why did you want to meet up here." He asked.

"Well" I said "I thought we could just hang out." I said

"Well" He said " I have a basket ball game this Friday if you want to come." He said

"I wouldn't miss it!" I said

That Thursday night I stayed up wondering what would happen at the game. The next morning I was overwhelmed with excitement to go to the game. Today I had a feeling that Oliver was going to ask me to be his girlfriend so I had to have on the perfect outfit.

Of course this was a "fashion emergency" or so my friend savanna called it. I had to call her right away.

"Hey girlfriend!" Savanna said with excitement.

"Hey." I said.

"I'm on my way." Savanna said.

Well that's savanna for ya. When I call her she rushes over to my house. The first time we met she liked my brother Isaac. I hope she still doesn't have a crush on him. She is like a sister to me.
Savanna arrived 2 minutes after I called. Since she lives 1 block away from me she can be here so fast. She flung open the front door and ran through the house like she would if there was a sale at forever 21.

"Who's the boy?" She said squealing like normal.
"Well" I said "his names Oliver and I'm going to his basketball game and I think something's going to happen and.."
"No way!" She said "he's gonna ask u to be his girlfriend ahhh!!!"
"Calm down" I said " I have an emergency I don't know what to where?"
Of course savanna always had an extra pair of clothes for me in case something happens.

"So what's he like. Is he cute. Does he have a friend." She said posing in front of the mirror.

"We have more important things like what am I gonna wear?" I said
"Basketball game right?" She said " I have the perfect outfit."
Finally she came out of my closet with a cute flower blouse, ripped black jeans, cute striped vans, and a cute flower crown.

" Try it on" she said.
Once I tried it on I came out and showed her because she wanted everything to be perfect.

" i don't know about the flower crown?" I said itching my head.
" it looks great but y'a let's just curl your hair instead." She said
"But I don't have a curling iron." I said
"Your so funny" she said " you really think I would leave the house without my curling iron." She said
Once my hair was all curled I have to admit I did look pretty good. Savanna is a miracle worker.
"Do you think I'm ready?" I said
"Yes" she said "You look absolutely perfect ahhh I'm so happy for you." She said

"Let's just hope Oliver likes it." I said

"I'm sure he will." She said

"Are you positive?" I said

"Positive."she said
