We begin our story today on a chilly Autumn evening, our protagonist Zak Booker sat slouched lazily at his desk with a single piece of white lined paper staring at him from the oak stained table in front of him. With a black pen in hand it was as if his imagination had died or gone on holiday for a very long time, with nothing dancing around in his head young Zak dazed off into a world of his own.
It was roughly around 10.30 at night on Jinx road. The homework was not yet completed and Mr. Booker reeked of teenager. Zak was a quiet boy and liked keeping to himself most of the time at school he was labeled "whisper" because no body could ever hear him talking, it was just the worse when a teacher would ask him something; his face would turn bright red and he wpouls start sweating as if in a literal hot seat, his stutter would show up just in time to make him sound scared and weak.
Flashing back into reality the clock now read 11.45 and with that he climbed into bed and fell back into his brain. Zak had this obsession with the writer known as "E-L.Kennard." This writer was reponcible for the leading titles:
Writers Block.
The Loyal Manta
The Floral Skulk
Zak didn't really know the gender of the writer, they never really specified in their bio that was on the inside cover of each book. It didn't really matter.
Kennard had been around for 5 years and is adored by Zak. Its where his passion for writing came from. The following week at school Zak and his classmates were given an assignment based on writing your own first two chapters of a book you have to come up with, this made Zak's day he had been waiting for this all year and now it was finally here. Going a little over-board Zak dragged out all of "E-L.Kennard's' books and grabbed ideas from each one.
From "Writers Block" A writers struggle for the perfect idea.
From "The Loyal Manta" The sense of adventure.
And from "The Floral Skull" The connection between the Protagonists and Antagonist.
Together Zak created a story all about fantasy and adventures. Pushing away from the desk twirling in his chair, delighted with himself that he finally has a chance to show off his love for writing. Oh but readers please don't get too attached to Zak's passion soon you will see him being wripped to pieces.
This assignment wasn't due in for another week but as Zak was so excited about Mrs Phillips reading his first two chapters he brought the sheet of imagination in three days later.
Mrs Phillips began scribbling on the whiteboard in a hard to see green colour all about algebra (boring). Zak willingly against the rules decided to whip out "The Loyal Manta" by E-L.Kennard and began to read quietly to himself.
