Dean Winchester planted a foot onto the the hot black asphalt that burned in the midst of summer. He stepped out of the cool air conditioning of the family car into the heat feeling it smack him in the face.
The other brother looked over what he would be calling home for the next 3 months, and couldn't help but sigh in disappointment as he walked to the truck of the car. It's wasn't that the small brick house wasn't nice, it was more that it was too nice and he knew that they'd be gone in the wind and onto the next place in a short while.
"Grab the bags and bring 'em in." A low, raspy voice ordered as a taller man got out of the car. It was clear that this was Dean's father. They basically had the same face, minus the eyes. Dean had his mother's bright green eyes.
"I can help!" A much higher pitch voice came from the back seat of the '67 Chevy Impala. That voice would belong to the youngest Winchester, Sam.
"He can handle it on his own, Sam. Come help me pick out your room." John said, watching as the 11 year old boy smiled and ran around the car to reach his dad's side.
Dean watched the two walk into the front door, leaving him alone outside. He opened the trunk, grabbing the 4 bags inside. They each had one bag of their own, along with an extra to keep any more clothes in. He left the 5th bag containing a variety of guns, knives, and miscellaneous dangerous weapons.
Dean pulled down the trunk, closing it, and headed in the same direction the other two had gone. With a slight struggle he managed to open the door and make his way in.
He was greeted by an almost uncomfortably nice house. There was a fully functioning kitchen, furniture filled the living room, and from what he could see there was a long hallway with 4 doors scattered down it.
"Where do you want the bags?" He yelled, figuring the others were in a room down the hall.
"Set 'em in the couch." John replied. Dean could now pinpoint that His father and brother were in the room at the end of the hallway.
The blond set the bags down where he was told, and started to take his own tour around the house.
He ran his hand over the marble counter top in the kitchen, as his eyes ran over the dark wooden cabinets and the matching table that would surely never be used for it's intended purposes. Soon there would be notebooks and loose paper sprawled out among the surface. His boots hitting the hardwood floor, echoed beneath him as he left the kitchen and walked down the hallway.
The first door to his left led to the bathroom. Inside was a large mirror placed on top of a white porcelain sink to the left. And to the right was a matching plain bathtub with a shower head sticking out from the wall. A plain yellow- tinted curtain was bunched up, ready to be pulled out for use.
The next door was on his right. It was to the smallest of the 3 bedrooms in the house. This would most likely be his own. But that wasn't an issue as he didn't plan to spend much time in the house over the summer. The walls were a beige, matching every other one in the house. A cheap twin sized bed stood in the middle of the room, across from a lighter wooden dresser. In the back corner there was another white door that opened to reveal a closet
The next room down the hall would belong to his dad since it was the largest. Within it was a queen sized bed with a similar set up to the room Dean had just been in. Although this room contained a 32" TV on top of a slightly larger dresser. There were two sliding doors that exposed a much larger closet than Dean's.
Lastly, he joined the rest of his family in the room at the end of the hallway which looked the same as the other two, though it contained a small 20" Tv. "Ya likin' the new house, Sammy?" Dean asked his little brother who was currently sitting on the edge of his new bed.
"It's a whole lot nice than the last one we were in." Sam smiled at his brother. That was no lie. They'd found a great deal on the house and figured they'd stay the summer.
The two boys would still have to go to the school a few blocks down the road for the last 2ish weeks. This was mainly because Sam had begged John to let them so he could make friends and...well he was just a nerd.

Later that night the oldest Winchester went out without an explaination, but Dean figured he was going to find the nearest bar. This meant that Dean was left with his younger brother to make dinner and get him to bed.
"You okay with...uh..." The blond searched through what little they had set up in the kitchen. "Mac and Cheese?" He said, spotting a single box in the back.
Sammy looked up from the couch where he'd been messing around with the TV and flipping through channels. "Is that all there is?" He asked, wishing that for once they could have something other than noodles of one type or another.
"It's that or tuna." Dean said. "But I'll try to get to the store tomorrow."
Sam pretended to gag as tuna was mentioned, giving Dean his answer.
"Mac and Cheese it is." Dean muttered, grabbing a pot. He filled it up with water and placed it on the stove after struggling to turn it on for a moment.
While the water was boiling, Dean went into the living room and sat down on the couch. "You excited for school tomorrow?" He asked Sam.
There were about two weeks until school ended, but Sammy begged for John to let him go. He was nerdy like that. And because Sam was going, it meant Dean had to go to take him.
Sammy nodded, looking over to Dean. "Aren't you? You'll get to meet new people and besides the end of the year is your favorite!" The younger brother smiled over to his sibling.
"Yeah. I guess you're right." Dean said with false enthusiasm. He just saw school as a way to make connections that he'd have to leave behind in a few months. He didn't see why Sam was so thrilled, but he wouldn't dream of taking that happiness from him.

After the two ate and were in comfier clothes, Dean let Sam stay up about 30 minutes later than usual. He knew John wouldn't be home for a while. That is if he bothered to come home at all.
The two passed the time by watch a cartoon that Dean had never seen. Sam clearly had though because he was jabbering on about how this character was his favorite, or how he hated another.
Dean though it was kinda cute how he could ramble on forever. It was a trait Dean almost wished he had.
After the episode they were watching, Dean muttered, "You should get to bed, Sammy. You'll wanna be well rested for your 7th first day of school." Dean said with a small smile.
Sam got up off the couch and started to walk down the hall to his room. As Sam passed him, Dean gave him a pat on the back.
"Dean...do you ever get tired of moving?" Sam asked, glancing back at his brother.
Dean sighed and followed down the hall. "You should get to bed. It's gonna be a long day tomorrow." He gave Sam a light pat on the back and pushed him towards him room.
"Come wake me up if you've got a problem." He muttered lile he did everytime they moved into a new house. Sometimes Sam would come slip into his bed in the middle of the night.
"Okay....goodnight, Dean." Sam said with a small smile.
"Night, Sammy." Dean gave a small grin and walked into his 'room'. He left door open a crack incase Sammy came in later in the night.
He heard Sam's door click as it closed, and he heard soft footsteps in his room.
The wooden panels beneath him squeeked as he walked to the side of the poorly made bed. Altho ugh it was nice then what he normally slept on, so he couldn't complain.
He sat on the edge of the bed and looked out the small window, looking at the stars in the sky.
After a moment of silence he relaxed onto the bed and laid down. His head rested on the stiff pillow below him. The springs beneath him squeaked everytime he moved.
It wasn't long before his eyes fell shut and he was consumed by darkness. This was one of the few nights in his life where he just got to lay down and sleep, he was going to take full advantage.
