"SCORE" Derek flings the dorm room door open before letting it slam behind him "I did it man"

"Did what?" I ask, closing my laptop screen slightly so that I could see him better

"I asked Monica out" He said in a chill tone, propping himself up on the wall.

"Ah, good job mate!" I exclaim "Where are you taking her?" I'm pretty proud he actually asked her out, after days and days of him saying he was going to do it...he finally did

"The movies" he said "Hey, do you think you could come with me, you know, in case things get weird or anything. I feel like it would be better with someone else there too. Ease the awkwardness" He gave me a face. I make a face back, wondering if he really realized what he just asked me. He wants me to invade on their first date? Normal guys don't want another guy on their first date with a girl. But Derek and I are different...in a lot of areas. Pretty much the only thing him and I have in common is we both like skateboarding and girls. But we still get a long pretty well. Other than the fact he always tells me how my lip ring is a health hazard; which I often laugh about, considering that was something my mom constantly told me. What did he ask? Oh yeah, he wants me to watch over his date. Not going to happen.

"No, what am I? Your chaperone? You can handle yourself" I laughed "Besides, it would be even more awkward with a third person there. Seriously" I returned my attention to my computer screen

"What about the girl Monica hangs out with? I could ask her to invite Chelsea. Then you wouldn't be-"

"Heck no" I gave him a look "That girl hates my guts. Plus, I don't want to go anywhere tonight. I'm just going to hang out in the room. Have fun" I highly doubt she would want to go if she knows I'm going. Monica isn't fond of me either, but I think she'll warm up to me once her and Derek get serious. If that happens

"Quit being a girl" Derek tossed a pillow in my direction and left the room.

I set my laptop beside me and let out a deep sigh. My mind begins racing about Chelsea. Why does she hate me so much? Can she really care that much about how I treat other people? I haven't done anything to warrant her hating me. I have to get her to change her mind about me. I change my mind in mere seconds, catching Derek before he's out of calling distance. I stick my head out of the door "What time?" I call down to him. He turns around with a smirk on his face "We leave in 20 minutes. Meet me in the front of the parking lot. Thanks man"

This may be a way to have Chelsea warm up to me. She can't ignore and avoid me forever...Why am I doing this? I don't care what Chelsea thinks about me...I would never date her. Our personalities don't mesh..why do I want her to change her mind about me? I shake my head, removing my questions from my head. I slip a pair of vans onto my feet and rustle my hair slightly before throwing a snap-back on. I subconsciously play with my lip ring as I walk down to the parking lot, taking two steps at a time. I see Derek leaning against the side of his car, messing with his phone "Where are the girls?" I ask him, pointing out that we were the only one's,

"Oh, Monica's coming in just a second" he said, peering up from his phone

"What about Chelsea?" I ask "Thought you said she was coming"

"No, I-"

"Hold that thought" I say, quickly making my way back into the dorm halls. I wasn't about to be the tag along on this date. Chelsea is going to suffer with me.

"Louis!" I hear a mad voice call me from behind. I stop in my tracks, turning around to see who was calling me. Amanda, yesterday's date, came up to me and gave me a swift smack in the face
