Gem Necklace

Chapter 1: Elizabeth

I was chasing someone. I couldn't remember why I was here, and who this was. Then, I noticed something sparkly on her neck. I was a purple gem necklace. Then, I remembered what I was doing here. I wanted to recruit this girl with a gem necklace.

I chased her through the woods, and suddenly her necklace lit up. Then, a purple lion popped out. She leaped on top of the lion and rode really fast. I was not about to lose this girl. We needed her. Wait! Who was we?

A suddenly memory hit me, it was the memory of a boy named Logan. He had a green necklace, but I never knew him well. Why was I with him?

I concentrated on catching her. Quickly, I thought of a lion, and my pink gem began to glow. Then, in front of me, was a pink lion. I jumped on it, and off we went.

We chased though the woods weaving though trees, jumping over logs, and slamming into bushed. Then, the forest clear out, reveling a huge castle. Why was there a castle here?

The girl stood up on her lion, and jumped. I thought she was going to fall head first into the ground, but instead a purple hawk caught her in its claws.

She must have also summoned that I thought.

I, also, thought of an hawk, and pop! It appeared in front of me. Climbing onto its back, I chased the girl. I saw, below me, both of the lions disappear. With a fast speed, I chased the girl to the castle walls. I saw one of the windows open, then the hawk threw her in. I rushed the hawk, so I could go in, too, but it was too late. The window closed, and I ended up slamming into the wall and falling down a incredible height.

I'm dead.

I snapped open my eyes and sat up on my bed. I was breathing really hard. It was just a dream. I am nice and alive, not dead. Lifting myself out of the bed, I went to my closest to change to go to school. I looked at my gem necklace hanging from my neck.

The gem necklaces are passed to the youngest of the family. Anyone who has control over it can summon anything, but it takes more energy to summon more significant things. I wouldn't have been able to summon a giant lion and falcon. My family's was pink. We were supposed to pass down the necklace to keep safe from enemies, and unite them at the most unguent time. I don't know how many there are, but Logan, a boy in my school, has a green one. Why was Logan in my dream?

After changing, I went our of my room and down the stairs to eat breakfast. Both my mom and dad go out to work really early, so I stay alone at home most of the time. I got out milk from the refrigerator and a cereal box, bowl, and spoon from the cupboards.

Setting the bowl and the spoon on the table, I poured some cereal then milk. I sat down on the chair, and munched on my cereal while thinking about the dream. I was weird. No one had castle at this time. They were all in like the 1700s. Why am I thinking seriously about this dream. It was just a dream. But, my gut says its different, that I should talk to Logan. My gut is always right.

After finishing my cereal, I packed for school and went out, locking the door behind me. I needed to talk to Logan, my gut was right. I wish I could use my gem, but the problem was that it makes me tired just to summon a chocolate bar. How could I summon two giant animals like this?

I went to the school bus stop, and waited for the bus. I never really talked to Logan, but this was important. I hope no one takes this the wrong way...
