The eerie gloom of obscurity ought to in no time elope my memory. I reminisce the inky canvas of the sky and the warped, wrenched silhouettes that the stars created. The electrified flecks which spun and danced along the sky in different forms, appeared to satisfy me. It was difficult to shove aside the worries that corrupted my mind. My steps had ceased above the soft sand under my feet, which silenced my line of speculation. I was isolated. Not a sole element in my life could distress me.

I gazed towards the striking sky and studied the silver phosphorous of the luminous moon. It beamed at me with love so powerful; it kindled my soul like a fire on a freezing winter's night. The look the moon gave me caused a fierce blue fire to flicker in my heart and it grew, disseminating the dark emotions in its path. My worries disappeared and the tears which had developed at the corners of my eyes slid down my nipped face.

The tears gave me feelings of joy, relief, and freedom which cascaded aside the wounded eyes. They were a make-shift detergent that washed away the pain. The cold midnight waves hollered in and exhilarated my feet as I laid on the beach.

Soon a deeper, chilling, pitch-darkness wrapped itself around me and I sensed as though I was drowning in a dark sea, gradually sinking into the chilly, unknown darkness.

"She's in there, I'm aware of it, but it's like she took a huge step back from life," a voice sobbed. "I want to reach in and tell her she isn't hopeless, but she won't believe me. I want to rekindle her heat but her insides are too damp with unshed tears. She always hid behind a smile and reinvented herself, learning to bottle her feelings. The hurt lodged in that lovely heart of hers like a slow acting poison," The voice spoke lugubriously. "I always assumed she had pain inside, but now it's visible on her face and I wish it would leave."

"I love the night, it hides my flaws, my imperfections, the scars burnt onto my flesh, the stabs of knives left behind, she had reasoned."  The melancholy voice understood me well, I figured. "The moon leads me through the dark. It's calming presence that allows me to do whatever I want, as my worries and thoughts, burn into smoke as they wander through the endless night..." The voice proceeded.

A violent series of obstreperous beeping sounds, which rang in my ears, slashed through the penetrating silence. My eyes had froze over like the surface of a winter puddle, stealing them of their usual bright warmth. It was difficult to breathe, but I had let out a sudden high-pitched shriek of pain and fear as my body thrashed, tossed and turned. Suddenly, the voice from earlier was calling out orders, things I couldn't interpret as the thick tension in the atmosphere rose. The commands didn't last, as I fell into a deep, much-needed peaceful sleep.
