Name meaning: Sasuke is a very old name with no meaning. However, it is associated with a mythical ninja named Sasuke Sarutobi. This mythical ninja was said to have followed a warlord named Sanada Yukimura. This caused two characters in Naruto to be named after him. One having the same exact name, Sasuke Sarutobi, and then the Main Sasuke that we know, Sasuke Uchiha.  This is a very stereotypical name of a ninja. 

His last name is a variation of Uchiwa, meaning paper fan. This refers the clan being a fire user clan, due to the fact that flames burn brighter and stronger when there is a fan giving it air to breathe.

Background: 

Uchiha Sasuke was left an orphan at the age of 8-9, due to an event in his family. His family as plotting against the village they lived in because they village assumed that the Uchiha clan was to blame for the Kyuubi attack. Later found out in the series, this was proven to be true, but not by the person you think. This will be explained in other character stats and the Uchiha clan page when I have gotten there. Later on, Sasuke forms a rivalry with Naruto, and is soon considered equal level to his teammate, and even considered Naruto a brother. Then because Naruto was so strong, and his seek for revenge against his older brother Itachi who had killed the entire Uchiha clan, he went to seek training from Orochimaru.

Favorite foods: Rice balls with fried/smoked Tuna, Tomato

Least favorite foods: Sweets, and Natto

Akatsuki missions:

 As we see in the Anime, Sasuke only does 1-3 missions for the Akatsuki. However, the most remembered are the failed mission of capturing the 8-tailed Jinchuriki, Killer Bee.

Fun facts:

Sasuke is Kishimoto's favorite character to draw, despite the fact that he also is the longest and most difficult to draw.

Sasuke is the second Character to receive a spin off-manga (the first will be revealed when the time comes!)

Sasuke was only 16 when he fought the Kages head on

Uchiha Sasuke was suggested for the story plot by Kishimoto's editor. If the editor never suggested that Naruto would have a rival, there would be no Sasuke Uchiha.

Sasuke was named after the third Hokage's grandfather.

Sasuke doesn't use honorifics for anyone except his brother, parents, and clan members

Sasuke is left handed but has the ability to use both as if they were both dominant.
