Chapter 5

His lips brushed against mine. I felt my heart race. I pressed my lips to his. We both pulled apart at the same time. I was breathless. I waited 13 years for this and it finally happened.

"I've got to go." I said sadly but I have to get back to the house to make dinner for uncle Rob or he will be very mad.

"Please don't go." He said pleading me with his eyes.

"I'm sorry but I have to and you also have a girlfriend." I said turning away and walking out. I went to my car but then I heard a scream in the forest. It sounded like storm. I ran to the scream and found storm on the ground slashed up. Kali was also there. Her eyes were blood red and full of revenge. She dug her claws in to storms stomach, picked her up and carried her to me. Storms mouth was open. She grabbed my arm, I tried to pull away but her grip was tight. She placed my arm in storms mouth and storm bite down on instinct. I screamed out in pain. Kali ripped her claws out from storms stomach and fled. I passed out from the pain. When I woke up my vision was blurry and could smell things like a rotten banana. My vision came back and I sat up. I realized I was in a bed. I looked at my arm where storm bit me, it was gone like nothing ever happened. I knew exactly what happened. I'm a werewolf now. I think. I got out of the bed and tried to extend my hearing to downstairs. I could hear a fridge open and close then some one said, "You're breaking up with me?"

"Yes and." He was about to say but he was cut of from getting punched.

"Ever since she arrived you've lost interest in me." She said but I soon realized it was Erica and the man must be Derek.

"So what." Derek said.

"I-I lo-love you Derek." Erica said.

"I don't know if I do." He said.

"Please stay with me please." She begged.

"Sure." He said kissing her. I lost it I was angry at him. I lost control. I shifted and looked In the mirror. I had red eyes. I don't understand. I ran down the stairs and out through the door. I stopped at the edge of the forest. If I had red eyes I was the alpha or I am a alphas mate. Derek. Erica, Isaac, Boyd, Storm and Scott ran out of the house and stopped at the bottom of the porch stairs. I breathed in and turned my head facing them Erica gasped, Scott looked confused and storm had sympathy, because she knows exactly who's my mate. Derek stood there staring at me with disbelief in his eyes. My wolf howled for him but instead I ran of in to the woods. I ran as fast as I could to get away from them. When I came to a clearing punched a tree so hard my hand started to bleed. I looked at my hand then fell to the ground crying. How could I have fallen for him again. He will just hurt me over and over again.

~Derek's P.O.V~

I watched Nina run off in to the woods. I didn't know what to do then I decided to go after her. I stepped to run in to the woods but Erica grabbed my arm. I looked at her and said, " I need to go."

"No you don't." She said. She let go and I just stared in to the woods. I felt my hand hurt badly. I looked at my hand. I twisted my face in pain and fell to the floor.

"What's wrong Derek?" Erica asked. I just stared at my hand.

"I know what's wrong." Storm said coming over to me and picking me up by the shirt.

"Tell them Derek, tell them now." She said punching me in the face.

"Tell us what?" Erica asked.

"Nina's my-my ma-ma-mate." I said looking Erica in the face. I saw her face twist in pain and she ran off in to the house.

"Erica." I called after her. I started to go after her but Scott and Isaac and stopped me.

"I think you've broken enough hearts today." Isaac said. I growled at him.
