There once was a tree called the Hollow tree
For it has a blisteringly black and empty inside
Even though on the outside it looks normal
Much like the plant that looks beautiful
Yet it's fruit is so tasteless that not even the crows find their supper there
Though this tree could not even sustain fruit
Nor the house it was expected to support
For only a good wind and that tree would come stumbling down
And yet the termites did not help
The tree attracted them
With its rich aura
And dumb innocence
Yet this tree will await for the storm that destroys it
But until then it seems
I'll just keep hurting myself
From the inside out.
