The Beginning

I fall into him and inhale his strong spicy scent. He leans his forehead against mine and holds the back of my head with his hand. As he presses his head against  mine he massages my scalp with his fingers  entangled in my hair. We were alone with our fate. With him rubbing mindless  circles on my dome. I can't believe we are here. The silence emptiness  of the place is sterile. We don't need words. Just each other. But soon we wouldn't have that. I know he did it. I know he is what they say he is but he is still my everything.  Those that oppose him will crumble by my hand. Those that put  him here will suffer. The door opened and we were ...
Pulled from our quiet blissful fantasy of the two of us and back to reality. The room we were in is big some kind of conference  room with a long wide wood table surrounded by swivel chairs. We sat at the end of the table with our two chairs pushed together . We were interrupted by Keno. My man's right hand man. He has been with him since their rough journey through the streets. He is more than a friend more like  a brother. Keno stands in the doorway like a statue of fierceness covered in his street cred ink. He looks every bit the gangsta he is. My man not so much. Red doesn't even have tats just scars and wounds from past wars. This battle won't leave any visible marks just heartache and loneliness. He could catch twenty to thirty this time. With his past against him who knows and with this judge who is hard on crime I might not see him without intrusion for a very long time. 
Red sighs as Keno asks "Y'all ready". Red rises first from his chair with his hand still in mine. I stand never breaking contact . Keno and him stand face to face expressing nothing verbally and give each other strong eye contact. They clasp they're hands giving a hard fist pound and a hug. We head back to the courtroom. We entered the huge vaulted ceiling courtroom and awaited the jury.
