We Only Get Real People Down in Here Anyway

Start from the beginning

"He's not even playin' that guitar!" He yelled over the music.

I had to agree. The guitarist's fingers were moving too fast and didn't even look like he was strumming. Weird.

The show ended around eleven-thirty but the night wasn't over. The music blasted through the speakers as people got in the middle of the dancefloor and in position to do their thing.

Noel watched for a few seconds then turned back to the stage.

The band themselves was tearing down their own equipment. Another weird sight to see but then again I don't think they arrived on a full-size tour bus.

"Remind you of your roadie days?" I inquired.

"A little." He replied with a nod.

I smirked. "Someday that boy'll be as famous as you."

He clicked his tongue. "He wishes."

I smiled a little bigger. "I bet he'll still be able to wipe his own ass though." I mused.

He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "You what?" He said.

"C'mon! I was just razzing you!" I grabbed his arm. "Come dance with me!"

"No!" He planted his feet firm on the floor. "I don't dance especially not to this hillbilly shite!"

"Yeah but you don't have to be you tonight!" I clutched his arm tighter. "You can pretend to be a country boy like all these other people who think all it takes is a pair of cowboy boots and knowing every Luke Bryan song by heart."

"Who the fuck is Luke Bryan?" He asked with still furrowed eyebrows.

"Who cares? Come dance with me!"

I got him to do the "Cupid Shuffle" and he was quite clumsy. Even with the singer telling him what to do he still couldn't get it quite right.

He sat down at a table along the wall after that watching intently while I cut a rug with everyone else. I could feel him piercing a hole through me but focused my attention on the fun I was having instead.

Kelsey's boyfriend came to join us after he got off work and we all left the boot scoot sometime after one in the morning. They dropped me and Noel off at the hotel he we we're staying at then left to go back to theirs.

"One bed?" I remarked nodding at the one in the middle of the room.

"Yeah." Noel replied nodding as well. "Didn't figure you'd mind so." He shrugged before putting his bag on the floor.

I took mine into the bathroom and changed for bed. When I was finished, I crawled in under the covers while Noel took his turn in the bathroom.

He came out a few minutes later and joined me in bed. We turned the lights off and the whole room was pitch black.

"Nic Cester's got a gig in London next month." I mused as I stared up into the darkness.

"Good night, Jules!" Noel exclaimed as he rolled over away from me.

I sat up and turned the lamp back on. "There's videos on YouTube of them now and they suck! It's like 'The Ballad of the Mighty I'!"

He rolled back over and blinked at my in disgust. "What the fu-"

"You have to fix this, Noel!"
