Chapter 1 / The Start of Something New

I was 16, it was my first year of high school. I was the new girl in town and never did I think he would fall for me. Now you might be wondering who "he" is , but before I tell you that I've got to tell you more about me and why I am here at this new school. I am Elisabeth Johnson , Beth for short. I have wavy,chestnut hair,and brown eyes. I'm here because my dad got married again and wanted to travel with his new wife Stacey  so I'm going to go and stay with my mom for a while. I know it's going to be good for him so I can't bring myself to regret the decision to leave home. I'm going to like it here......I think? The first day in Washington was-different than what I was used to, due to the fact that I was used to the summer sun of Florida. My mom and I didn't speak much, that's one of the reasons why I decided to come here, because she doesn't hover.                             It was Saturday evening and I was unpacking, then I heard my mom call for me to come downstairs, as I was walking downstairs I saw Danial Picker my best friend.                        
"Hey, Beth it's been a while since I've seen you."
" yeah I know, I've really missed you Danny."
I wasn't lying-I did miss him,but i don't think it was in the way he was hoping. I've known for a while that he liked me more than a friend, well I've known ever since his sister Emily told me she is a very sweet girl with beautiful chestnut curls and green eyes. She looked a lot like her brother, to the point to where it was freaky.
"Well I kinda have a gift for you well it's not from just me it's from everyone."
I've never really liked to get gifts because it makes me feel as if I owe people for giving me something.
"Wow, um....thanks, Danny that is really sweet but you didn't have to do that."
" I know I didn't,but I figured that you would be needing a ride to school so now you sorta have a "new" car."
" What do you mean "new" car, Danny."
"I mean you have a 1964 c-10 chevron sitting outside in your driveway. Come on Beth go and check it out, pls for me. I spent a lot of time on this peace of rust."
" Okey but there is no need for you to hate on my truck."
