Sylvia's Pov

As the angry roars of the beasts came nearer and nearer by the passing second, my heart seem to beat more faster and faster. The air is starting to leave my lungs as I continue to take a step forward. The warning bells were ringing loudly for me to go back, telling me that death by the hands of the pack is easier and less painful than the one that I would gain in this cursed land.

"She crossed the forbidden area boss. What do we do?" Someone said from behind angrily. I did not dare to look back but continued to take little steps further and deeper the land.

"Bunch of cowards! Go after her and kill her!" Dylan roared back in return. Sad as it seem, that man used to be my best friend and my comfort. He used to be the shoulder I would cry on when everything seems so wrong. As I look back at him, I can't see even an ounce the man that I used to love as a blood brother.

For a second, I stopped and looked unto him eye to eye. Our gazes locked and he seemed to flinch with the intensity of my gaze. My mouth is sealed with dryness that even speaking is painful. They didn't even feed me or gave me water in that dungeon. My eyes were asking him why. Why does this happened?

For a second I saw the sadness in his eyes but then it was replaced by determination. That pack is sick by something and this crazy elder told that the blood of a virgin of a distant alpha should bleed for the pack and she will save the lives of all. It's either me or his mate so everybody chose the weak girl that would prefer helping the wounded than the girl that would be useful of being the luna and a well trained fighter. It must be the one that will affect the pack less to be sacrificed. It's not fair! Those bastards never care for an ounce for me. They don't even acknowledge me and now they are being selfish that I should die for them? Hell no!

The wolves stepped forward and slowly and cautiously towards me. They were on high alert and continues to look left and right for danger. My body feels rigid and the days that I was not fed nor given water started to take its toll. I can't even lift a finger anymore. My voice is dry, my feet refuse to take another step and my eyes have long gone and done spilling precious tears. This is the end for me.

"If there is someone, something out there. Please, Just please help me. I shall fulfill any request you demand just have mercy on me. I am begging you." I prayed mentally as I hear more and more shuffling of leaves as the heavy paws of my comrades just a few days ago close in.

I waited and waited but there was nothing. I closed my eyes as I recall my happy memories but all I saw was Dylan and me having a good time while goofing around. We were not lovers as we both know that we have a mate out there but we were close as a brother and sister. I think I felt a tear slipped my eye before I was tackled to the ground.

I watch helplessly as Dylan came closer to me. A claw was digging on my skin and I wanted to scream because of pain but there is nothing left on me.

He looked down at me with such intensity that showed his resolve. He can't lose his mate and killing a friend is the only option he has.

"I'm sorry but please die for us."

Then darkness engulf me once again.

AN: damn my skin feels the chills as I write this chapter. It would be lighter soon so don't let go of this book yet.
