Fading

We loved going down to the beach, Caleb and I. We loved watching the waves wash over the delicate sand. One day we decided that we wanted to go and explore the beach. Caleb wanted to see if there were any books washed ashore last night. Caleb loved books so much that reading was almost all he ever did. He claimed that each book transported him to different places and gave him so many more different experiences than just going outside in the backyard, or riding a bike. Instead he read books that took him all the way from right here in the small town of Littleton to China. He did things like hang gliding, bungee jumping, and skydiving all in his chair in our library. I on the other hand was more of an inventor. I loved finding ordinary everyday objects and turning them into something a little  more useful. Today I alone have created a radio out of paperclips and extra wires, a battery out of some string, a lemon, and some pocket change, and a smoke bomb out of a battery, a light bulb, and a paperclip. As Caleb and I headed down on the beach we noticed a cave down by the shallow water. "Hey Amy, come check out this cave" Caleb said to me. As I approached the cave it started admitting a faded blue light. "Whoa..." said Caleb as he stared into the fading blue of the cave. I walked in and all of a sudden I couldn't move! I tried to leave but my attempts started to weaken, my brain started fogging up and all of a sudden I felt like I was fading away from everything that I once knew.
