This Name Is A Work In Progress

      Hey. So this is This Name is a Work in Progress which really is its name. It'll be fun, I promise, just give my babies a chance and you just may fall in love, too.

All I need to point out before I hold you hostage here for too long is that the mis-spelling of the chapter titles is purposeful and that this book is filled with characters and places that I made up all on my own. Any resemblance between real life and this book is purely coincidental.

Hey, so you've already read through that and have thoughts along the lines of "this is gonna be a mildly satisfying story about a couple gay kids with a lot of angst". In terms of satisfaction, I hope it's more satisfying than mildly. I'm thinking fire in terms of Taco Bell sauce heats, but that's just me. And hopefully you in the near future.

But I'll be honest, we have a long road and you may or may not be in as much pain as me, but I hope you'll see that we aren't dealing with mild on a bean taco here. Okay, enough with the taco analogies, fine, but if you stick around, I promise I'll actually do something good. Something that'll make you feel something.

I'm shaking, obviously, I know I'm shaking. I can feel his cold breath on my neck as he leans closer and closer until his lips brush my ear.

"What's little Benji doing in this big bad world?"

Benji Waters is awkward.

He has exactly two friends and one aqqueintanace, a shit load of books piled high in his room, and a lot of Netflix movie plots under his belt. He can cite Game of Thrones and has read more books than his sister, and that's saying something.

Some people, especially at Northtown High, where Benji goes to school, wonder what's so special about Benji Waters?

This is an interesting question, really.

So why don't we ask Archer Doe?

Mr. Doe has quite a lot of things under his belt, also. But these things include the best types of cigarettes, which hideout is better than another, and who's more honest than not.

He's always known what the world is like, so when Benji, a sheltered fanboy, gets mixed up with a few of Archer's friends, they meet. Archer learns about Benji's life, his bullies, his stars, his 'friends'. Benji enters the view of the train wreck that it Archer's home life.

And they have a few things to learn from each other.
