"Why did you do it?" Head mistress Rowland demanded. She was a small but deadly woman and I didn't want to get on her bad side.
"I wanted to look at the landmarks?"I replied as sweetly as I could. Truth was I just wanted to get out of this stupid school. There's no point of me being here anyway seen as I can't 'participate' in most of the classes.
"Really? How come when we finally found you there wasn't any landmarks in sight?" Our deputy head Mr Forster replied smugly.
I glared in his direction. "Thats because dimwit I was retiring for the night at a normal hotel not Buckingham palace!" I retorted.
"Thats enough!" Miss Rowland shouted. "Alexia you left school grounds unauthorized which is forbidden. If it wasn't for the fact that you have already missed too much school work I would have you suspended!"
Damn! I was hoping for expulsion!
I sighed. I knew the real reason why they wouldn't suspend me. My father is a well respected board member with the family line of the great powerful Oxen.
If you didn't know already the school I attend isn't any normal human school. No it's a supernatural school with students being able to do all different things like going through walls, traveling at super speeds, and hearing from far distances blah, blah, blah.
So yeah my family is practically famous in our community. Having Oxen blood means bad things that students may do that they normally would get in trouble for doesn't apply to me.
Great right?
No!
This time I really wanted to leave.
You see, if your in the family line it doesn't mean that you will get all this power that come with being a Oxen. In fact the Oxen line that runs in our family tree passes these gifts a little differently.
So basically say someone starts of an Oxen and they have a child, that child won't become an Oxen as well. However then they have a child that next child will become an Oxen. So it misses one each time. Simple right?
Wrong.
That's forgetting that people have brothers and sisters. That's when things get complicated. Both children won't have Oxen blood, only one of them. And the other? Just like their parent will have no power. Just your average human. Like me.
"Alexia? Alexia!" Someone shouted breaking me from my daydreaming.
"What!" I exclaimed rather loudly.
"Did you not here a word I just said?" Miss Rowland questioned.
"Yes I did and I wholeheartedly agree!" I said with so much enthusiasm it shocked both me and the guards in the room.
Mr Forster gave me one of his creepy smirks. What was that about?
"Great, so it's settled then. Mr forster would you kindly go fetch Mr Graham from the lounge?" Miss Rowland asked.
Confused, I stood staring at Forster's retreating back.
Two seconds later someone marched into the office and sat on one of the chairs. I stared at the scary looking man who looked about forty and lived of steroids.
At that exact moment the man looked at me and I felt my brown cheeks go red. He didn't hear what I said did he?
I was too busy trying to figure out how many steroids this man took daily to catch what head mistress was saying. He was bold and had a couple tattoos and scars up his arms.
".....So you start your training at seven" Miss said which snapped me out of my daze.
"What starts at seven?" I asked.
Miss Rowland sighed deeply before answering. "Miss Anderson have you even heard a single thing I've been telling you?"
"Uhh...."
"Its fine Miss Rowland I'll explain to Alexia." The man spoke in the deepest voice I've ever heard.
"It's just lexi" I gave the man whose name I still didn't know a slight wave.
The man just nodded.
"Well Alexia the plan is, seen as you have miss-, no; haven't even started your defence classes I have been assigned to teach you all you need to know to catch up." He explained.
It took me a few seconds to register what he was saying but when it finally hit me I was not happy.
"Excuse me!" I shrieked.
This can not be happening! I wanted to leave the school damn it!
"Its either this or you can spend your time making up for all the damage you left behind"Miss Rowland said seeming a bit annoyed about what I'd done before I left.
I groaned.
Before I left I basically wrecked half the school. Not badly but little things like graffiti, toilet paper over buildings, sticking sanitary pads on Windows, etc .I practically went all out. But did I think I was coming back? No.
"Fine!" I shouted.
I probably sounded like a brat but I couldn't believe it! My plan backfired majorly and there was nothing I could do but follow the guard to my 'trashed' room and mentally prepare myself for hell tomorrow.
