My daughter, Paige, wrote this short story to go along with her school project. She also has some drawings to go along with it when I figure this out a little better. The project; create a mythical God and a story to make it believable:
Hadussein*, son of Medusa and Hades, is the Reptilian God of Treachery and Ruler of the snakes. He lives in the cave of Lost Souls at the end of the River Styx. Immortal, and cast out of the Realm because of his treachery; He seeks comfort with the Hydra.
Enemies with Zeus, he plots with Hades to destroy him with the help of the Titans. When faced with all the destruction his plan causes he changes his ways and ultimately befriends Zeus. One day he happens upon Hermes and asks him to warn Zeus of Hades plot.
When Zeus hears this from Hermes he immediately banishes the Titans, and sends Hermes to return with Hadussein……
Upon his return Zeus greets Hadussein. With all the Gods of the Realm as witnesses he rewards him by asking him to return to their realm and reclaim his throne as one of the many Gods. Hadussein is both overjoyed and saddened by this….
This is the day he longed for so many times but he thinks of Hydra and his family. With hesitation he accepts the offer. Hades is angered when he learns of his son’s betrayal with loathing he watches his son from afar day after day waiting to find a weakness to use against him. Even though he has the tail of a snake and patches of scaly skin like the snake, he has the beauty or in his case handsomeness, of his mother. Many women like him now, he has muscles that gleam in the sun and all men are afraid of him because of his venomous bite.
Hades views his handsomeness as his weakness …” Since returning to the Realm Hadussein has forgotten the old ways and how the people once reacted to his hideousness. He has gained favor in the eyes of the women and has many that like him. This is how I will regain my son’s trust I will remove his good looks and make him as a toad without muscles and slobby, then he will return as he once was when the women dash his hopes of a normal life.”
So the day came when Hades made real his plan to change his son in order to bring him back to his former life. Hadussein had a girlfriend Melanthia, Goddess of darkness and shadows; they were on a date when Hades arrived. He cursed Hadussein to have the life of a toad until the day he returned to his former lair and his former lifestyle. He immediately turned into a toad like creature although he still had the tail of a snake he was no longer the object of affection for Melanthia. From then on all she could feel for him was pity.
Hadussein was angered by his father’s actions and vowed never to return to his evil ways but he no longer felt at home in the realm and so he returned to his old lair and immediately the curse was lifted so long as he remained at his lair. Even though he couldn’t leave his lair Melanthia soon learned of this and the two remained friends she visited often and even made friends with Hydra.
